Hoiw bad of a year is when Joseph and Glenn are the 2 for best player-surethe teams were pretty good but I really wouldn't put them inthat caeory altough both played pretty well.

Agreed, if not for the injuries to Burris and Ray one of them would have been in there I think.

I've always liked Glenn as a Qb but he seems to burn out as the year goes on.

hmph. no surprises really... but some disappointments. Most notably Clermont over Peterson. KP had the better/more significant season IMO and was more important to his team.

It'd be nice if there was more than a couple teams represented

Interesting that it was the Riders who moaned and bitched for a salary cap, and since a cap was put in place for them, they only years they've won they broke the salary cap rules.

I do not like the selection of Joseph for MOP for the west. I think that it really should have gone to Smith in BC. Considering the QBs that BC went through this year to lead the league in TDs is impressive. Also I think that the Riders Record is a tad inflatted given how many backups they played this year. Glenn was really a no brainer though.

As for Oustanding Canadian, I thkn that Clerrmont is a good choice. He had a more consistant season then Peterson and once again given the fact that he had 3 different starting QBs this year any BC recieving stats are impressive.

Joseph (believe it or not Rider fans) is the right choice. You're team has been missing the right QB to get you to the next level, and as much it hurts to say this, Joseph is that guy and has taken you to the next level. You've made the playoffs 2 years in a row. Not many Rider teams in the past 25 years have done that. And it's all him. Without Joseph you'd be rallying with us for last in the West. Wanna trade him? We have a coach we are looking to trade for. He's short and doesn't take up much space....

                    From Tsn:

Which finalist should win the Most Outstanding Player Award?
                    Kevin Glenn
                    23%

                    Kerry Joseph

how Moreno who is 2nd in the league in tackles doesn't get Defensive player or rookie outta the East is beyond me. This guy is all over the field and is by far their best player

I am OK with the selection Joseph. The Riders has their best season in a long time, and he was the main reason. Smith was great this year too. Sure it was a close decision.

I thought Perry would get the nod over Wake simply based on Perry's pedigree. Perry was pretty silent in the 2nd half of the season so I'm glad to see the voters did the right thing in acknowledging Wake.

Murphy is also a surprise. He was given a bad rep by the media all year, and I thought that would hurt in the player awards. BC allowed the fewest sacks, had the league's leading rusher, and finished first despite having different starting QBs all year. That o-line needed to be recognized IMO.

Clermont quietly put up some great numbers this year. His style of play plus the numbers makes him deserving IMO. I'm sure Fantuz and Peterson got some consideration.

Wake was a no brainer for ROY.

Smart was the leader in total yards, but the TD return he had a couple weeks ago is what put him over the top.

There will be some close votes this year. I think winning so many awards last will hurt the Lions in the close races this year.

For defensive player it's simple. He doesn't play for the Argos.

For rookie, his past pro experience (5 yrs in the NFL) was probably counted against him by his own team's media, thus Setta got the nod.
