Anyone watching the BC- Als game?

Did you see the Montreal fumble, followed by a BC recovery, which was then fumbled back to Montreal? The correct call was made on the field. Montreal regained the ball.

A challenge flag was thrown and it was reversed, the ref stated the BC player hit the turf then lost the ball. The replay that TSN showed clearly showed the ball was loose before the player contacted the ground. What a joke, it just resulted in a TD for BC.

I don't even think the original "catch" by Richardson was a "catch."

I thought the correct call should have been incomplete pass.

Yes and Trestman failed to challenge the fact that the original pass to Richardson was actually incomplete, therefore it was irrelevant about whether Myles fumbled or not......

The Als are doing a great job of crapping the bed here in the 2nd half. Not impressed!

That's putting it gently. Looks like the West's cumulative home record will increase to 8-1.

The vaunted BC O-line is leaving a lot to be desired from what I've seen of this game. Jackson is running for his life more often than not.

I think we rack up the sacks again for the next 2 weeks if BC's O line keeps this up.

Couple of things that I have noticed about the two teams involved.

First BC: You have to bury them early. Jackson seems to get on a roll as the game goes on. Very poor against the run, I think the Montreal Back had over 100 yards before halftime.

Montreal: Remind me a lot of the Esks. They come out great guns in the first half (OK outside of tonights game against HAmilton) and then seem to crap the bed in the second half. The last three games have been like that.

As for the replay on the fumble. I think that it was not a catch in the first place. The same play happened in the Rider game last week and it was ruled an incomplete pass. The only reason I can see that Montreal did not challenge that is the fact that the CFL looks for everything, and they ruled it a catch, or you can only have one challenge per play and BC got it first.

I was was also wondering what would have happened if it had been ruled Montreal Ball on the second fumble (after the interception). The guys on TSN were saying that it would be 2-10 for Montreal (ball was at original line of scrimmage), but my understanding is that it was a change of possession (going from Montreal to BC and then BAck to Montreal), so it would have been 1-10, have seen this before in the CFL.

that would have been consistent then with the call last week against the Riders, but what do I know if there are ulterior motives at play.....

It is Braley paying off the refs again, that ball was loose well before the Lion hit the ground, I am not sure if the first pass was complete either but I am cetain the fumble recovery was fumbled. The 7 points cored here cost the Al's the game in the end.

One thing is very clear, there is no concept of "Indisputable evidence" used in CFL replays.

They at look at the play, and figure out what they think happened and go with it, no matter what the original call was.

In this case, it looked to be they got the call on the catch wrong, and that there was no way to tell that the guy was down, so he was 100% wrong to overturn the fumble.

Which is quite different from last year, when it seemed they didn't want to overturn ANYTHING for fear of looking bad. Now they've gone in the extreme other direction.

Yup - it should have been 2nd & 10 for the Als. Instead, Murray Clark follows up one bad call with another on the review.

What about the Paris Jackson push-off for the TD? Everyone in the country sees it but not the official standing 10 feet away.

Last night was all about the home team getting the breaks on the calls. Facemask by Campbell on the stiff arm? Late hit by Barrenechea when he tried to avoid contact? Cut block by Cox when covering a kick-off? If it's going to be that way this season, road wins are going to be a rarity.

There was 900% evidence that the ball was loose before the player hit the ground, TSN showed one replay that was 900% totally clear that the ball was loose way before he even started to head to the ground. Total BS reversal.

You know why it is called BC Place?

It stands for Bizarre Calls Stadium.
