MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - The Toronto Argonauts will go with a new quarterback when they face the Stampeders in Calgary on Saturday.

Argos head coach Don Matthews says that Cody Pickett will get the ball, replacing starter Kerry Joseph.

Joseph, the CFL's outstanding player last season, has started all 11 games this season for the 4-7 Argos.

I understand that they need to shake things up, but considering Matthews just got there you think that they would give him at least another game

Sounds like a desperate move by Bucky Beaver if you ask me. Just another example of him imposing his will way too soon after taking over.

As Matt Dunigan said several times from the sidelines during the telecast, the Argo OC, Steve Burratto, was simply not game-planning to allow KJ the freedom to get outside the tackles and make plays with his legs.....

I'd figured to just have one thread for Don Matthews changes so I'm gonna talk here about Tim Strickland signing with the Argos. I didn't think of it til now but there could be a few ex-Als of recent years jumping on with the Argos and their former coach ... just a thought.

The only cheque Strickland should be cashing is a pension. I have no problem with any of the Argo QBs starting, but the more drama the better. You know KJ is gonna pout and be divisive.

Matthews loves to do that. He never seems to like vets, he always likes the rookies. I remember he benched our "vet" Marcus Crandell back when he was our coach.

Hard to say if this is only temporary to light a fire under KJ's ass or a permanent thing which means KJ will be released and Rider fans can jizz in their pants all over again.

While I don't really like the ad itself....the CFL needs more of it. We need to have stars, we need to put a face on some of the players....I thought it was nice to see a CFL player on a quality commercial instead of some second-rate commercial where they either look like they're reading off a cue card or are just doing a public announcement thing.

IMHO, this is another classic case of the Don's arrogance getting in the way of common sense. Either that, or he has basically thrown in the towel this season, and is holding auditions for next year.

It would appear that Joseph's cheque bounced, just like many of his passes before they got to a receiver.
