Are the Stamps head office on Drugs?

If the rumours are correct (and we know that they often are) then the Stamps are offering Burris 1.2 million over 3 years. He's already turned down 310,000 a year from the Riders. Does someone here see something I don't (especially the Stamps) cause I don't think burris is worth 100,00 a year. Here's a guy who can come off the bench with no pressure and play as a good back up but holy smokes this guy isn't half the QB that Maas is or Damon Allen for that matter. If the Stamps are stupid enough (and history bares out that they are) to pay an overinflated salary like that then what is the rest of the league in store for? This is going to give free agency an absolutely false ceiling which is going to be very detrimental to the league (ala NHL). The strange thing here is that, unlike the NHL, it isn't the financially strong teams doing most of the stupid overspending it's the Calgary and Toronto's of the league who can't afford it but are so desperate for success that they think they can buy it. It's funny how the Eskimo's always get the finger pointed at them for salary cap but to quote the league commissioner "Every team in the league is over the cap" soooooo all I can say is AT LEAST THE ESK'S CAN AFFORD IT.
If I'm Maas or Calvillo or Allen or Dickenson and see someone who has never won anything getting paid those kind of buck's for one flash in the pan season....I'd be choked.

It is incredibly dumb, If he was an elite QB but heck he's not a proven full season great QB. The worst thing is that it drives up the price of other contracts. Now if Calgary doesn't like the way he plays they can cut him in a year or so or pull a Toronto and tell him to cut his salary in half, in the mean time the bar has been set a bit higher. The Stamps are opening the vault thats for sure.

This is crazy, ive heard and seen in the media and other forums the esks being called free spenders but calgary a month after paying 800k as severance to an ex coach and pres has added a million dollars in anual salaries.

Second I believe that Henry threw 25td and 17 int, thats not even a 2 to 1 ratio and theyre giving him 400k.... and god forbid he gets hurt the stamps will have another 3 or 4 win record. Someone needs to stop these idiots from running a team.
My 2 favourite teams are the esks and whoevers playin the stamps!!!

Burris claims he was not offered $310,000 by saskatchewan, and apparently there is a 3rd team that is offering more than Calgary and Sask.

*edit* please note this is coming from an unconfirmed source so for it all could be b.s. but I'll keep y'all informed.

If he is worth 400k a season then that means Cavillo and Maas are worth 4.1 million per season.... hahahhaha , Calgary is such a joke... next thing they will sign winston for 350,000 per season. the thing im worried about though is the price of 'elite' players... if an unproven qb makes that kind of money , how much do we pay the athletes that actually win games??

If Burris is getting 400k, the return of Ricky Ray could be the straw that breaks the camels back because Ray is 10 fold a better QB than Burris. It could become Torontos "new found wealth" against Edmonton and Hugh opening up our war chest of money.

the presence of a third team isn't surprising to me at all. In fact I've been saying for some time that Hamilton should be making a move for Burris. They've seen the success the argos have had... Young has the pockets... they've had an incredible turnaround themselves... McManus is getting ready to wind down his career...

But of course it's the things that make sense that so rarely happen!

                - "A mild instance of turf toe (grade 1) can be merely aggravating while a serious case (grade 3) can be debilitating."

Burris being offered 350k or there around is just plain wrong. He hasn't done squat to prove he is worth that type of cash. AC, DD have. Maas hasn't even proved he is worth 300k a year, but Maas is a better QB than Burris. Sure Burris has promise, but that is not work 200k a season.

I just fear what'll happen should RR come back. How much will he look for ? 400, 500k ? and what about when Maas' contract is up , how much will he look for ? 350k or higher ?

And that, above anything else, is why I find people complaining about the Esks so ridiculous.

As you point out, look at the salary Toronto and Calgary have added. The Esks, meanwhile, seem to have the notion of a budget well understood and playing within those fiscal constraints.
