About three hours till game time, when the Green Riders meet the Blue Bombers in the 'Not Actually on Labour Day Classic'... but the wheaties can be excused fro their misnomer, after all, daylight savings time is beyond their grasp, so anything dealing with clocks and calendars probably isn't their strength

Meh... they could call it the Groundhog's Day Classic and it wouldn't bother me.

All that matters is it's as close to "Guaranteed Two Points" day in Riderville as we ever see. The east side will have Mike Kelly trying to jump into the crowd by the coin flip.

There seem to be a lot of Rider fans that think the next two weeks are an easy 4 pts....I'm not saying it won't happen, but I'm saying that if it does it won't be easy. Back-to-backs aren't easy to sweep, and the Bombers main strength on offense is also the Riders main weakness on defense.

There seem to be a lot of Rider fans that think the next two weeks are an easy 4 pts....I'm not saying it won't happen, but I'm saying that if it does it won't be easy. Back-to-backs aren't easy to sweep, and the Bombers main strength on offense is also the Riders main weakness on defense.

This doesn't concern me so much.

What concerns me way, way more is the exact opposite, 'Nipeg has the best secondary in the league, and today they face Darian Durant, undisputed heavyweight interception champion of the world. Here's hoping Weston Dressler and Jason Clermont have been working hard on their tackling drills this week.

Also, I have a bad feeling "Good Bishop" might be making appearance in this game... that's just Rider "luck"... I've seen this movie before.

Still, Labour Day is traditionally very good to us, even the worst of the 80s Rider teams many times beat a strong 'Nipeg squad in this game.

No 2 points are "easy", but these particular two are easier than most.

Next week... I'm just not sure, they'll be a tougher two points, but we still better get them, because they're the "easiest" we'll get a shot at for the remainder of the season. (other than our next TO game)

What really licks is, even if The Riders go into halftime 25 points up, that still puts the game "well within reach" for our opponents %$#@#$!!!

Hmmmmmm... 50 MPH with strong gusts.

Usually that's advantage Riders, but today our opponent has a much stronger-armed QB, and while this hasn't been the case in many years now, in '09, we almost always give up the advantage in the ground game as well.

I'm thinking this will be an interesting, and almost certainly ugly, ugly game.

Labour Day magic still = Rider victory though. (where's the fingers crossing smilie dude?)

In no way do I think that. With Fred Reid at RB and a Rider run defense that is questionable. Also, Winnipeg has a decent defense, with the front seven being very good and the DBs playing very well. It is not automatic that is for sure. IMO Toronto is the free bingo space this year.

It should be a good game with the Riders winning of course. GO RIDERS!!!
