    The twitter account for this forum called the release of Lemon a "#dickmove" but I think this classifies a bit better for that adjective.

    You bring the guy this far in his rehab, why not let him get some live touches to show other teams he his healthy therefore increasing his chances to sign somewhere OR if you didn't have the confidence he would be healthy enough to garner interest why the hell keep him so long?

    They have an obligation to cover him until he is healthy if he has a contract and got hurt while playing. You'd garner that once he got a clean bill of health, they already had moved on in their plans.

      Big money contract (likely) upon his return from the NFL last year, and the decision of a previous regime.

      I can see why they might've wanted to re-work the contract, and maybe they made efforts that way, but am surprised that a guy like that is hitting the market without having taken him through a camp for evaluation. Perhaps there is a feeling that he's not going to be the same player for the next while as he continues to rehab from his injury (mentally), but it still comes as some surprise.

      Once again though, it demonstrates the one-way nature of CFL contracts, and while I don't like seeing holdouts from players when there is a valid contract, I fully understand when a guy wants to go to a different team for a few thousand $$$ more.

        If Mallett is healthy and regain the form he showed in BC as a rookie he would be a great pickup. A real North- South runner with decent speed. The type of RB that DB's don't like to see approaching them. Some big questions with the Achilles and time sitting on PR's of NFL teams. Still only 27 , plus we have a history of getting some good backs from Hamilton such as Troy Davis and Williams.

            Huge injury.. Might be medically cleared.. Not mean he is game ready

              He attended mini camp & obviously didn't impress Austin. Not much of a surprise considering the injury he was coming off & the size of his contract.
