    Pringle signs with Montreal

    Pringle added to Alouettes roster

    CanWest News Service

    June 21, 2005

MONTREAL - Mike Pringle will retire a Montreal Alouette.

The Als added Pringle to their roster on Monday so the future Hall-of-Fame tailback can take to the field one more time as a member of the team he played with for seven years.

Pringle, 37, has yet to file official retirement papers. As a member of the Edmonton Eskimos last season, he broke the CFL rushing record of 16,116 yards formerly held by Saskatchewan Roughrider legend George Reed.

I would say this was cheap.....But the guy played a bunch o good years for the Allouette organization. It would be like Messier going into the hall as a Ranger.....doesnt seem right......

    Good for Mike.....

So does he just have to dress as an Alouette or does he have to be part of a play....Wonder if he will try and get one last TD for the hell of it.

It'd be good to see him get the ball one last time to get that TD record...(he is tied with it right now is he not?)

Too bad the Als don't play calgary.....

It'll probably be the same as what Mathews did for Pless several years ago. He will run onto the field in full uniform and wave to the fans.

I wonder who they dropped from their roster in order to add him? I think we should steal the person!

Good for Pringle. Give him a chance to get that TD. He spent most of his good years with the Als.

Does this mean that we can expect Fabian Burke to sign with the Esks so he can be burned one last time before he retires?

Only fitting to see him retire as an Al. I hope he gets the chance to get his touchdown as well. It would be a shame to retire only needing one more. Good Luck Mike!

                          Cool move by the Als!

This seems to be the way to say 'thanks' to a player who did so much for your team, but who got caught up in the realities of the business side of the sport.

Which begs the question... Terry Vaughn... out as a Stamp? or Esk?
My vote would be Esk... because he had greater impact and consistency with the Empire.

I don't think there is any question about it...same thing as with Willie Pless, who started with the Argos for a couple of years and finished out his actual playing days as a Rider. He made his mark as an Eskimo, TV is no different.
