It's time. The best of the best have eyed each other for 6 weeks over the fence.

Our Park, the Upper Deck open for the first time this year, two great teams, a brand new Green and Gold honourary Section 17er, (56Parkies), Ray, Dickenson, Tucker, Gaylor, McClendon, Warren, Simon and Lion82.

Does it get any better than this?

For us: Playing your receivers man to man. Too many seams in Zone. As much pressure as we got on Burris. Offensively, Warren, Warren, Lion82, and Paris Jackson, Dickenson getting the ball to the receivers quickly.

For you....fill in the blank.

Can't see being disappointed in this one no matter who wins. Wish more of you guys would come down and see us for the odd matchup like this one though.

I was down with the family for the game in Sept 02 (23-18 BC; we had at least 7-8 fumbles ). All my relatives are in the Lower Mainland; if the schedule can give us a summer Saturday game or two, I hope to make it down to BC more in years to come.

Esks keys:

Offence - Run the ball, early and often. BC's run D is not very highly ranked, IIRC. Need to open some holes to do that though. Also, stretch the secondary - send Tucker/Gaylor deep, that'll open up Mookie underneath.

Defence - Watch the short dump passes to Warren and the sideline routes to Thelwell. Get pressure on DD.

Special teams - Consistent coverage, along with good punts/kicks. Make FG's.

Intangibles - Score first (and second, preferably). Take the crowd out of it. Drink water, don't cramp up (except after kicking plays ).

I agree with Gizmo fan the esks need to run the ball as BC will be planning alot of defensive strategy on our passing game. We can hit em hard with ground game. Put Dubuc out there and plow some holes for the RB and Ray looks like he wants to start to run again too after the one good run in the Hamilton game.

...and just to talk a little smack, BC is gonna find out on Friday WHO the team to beat in the CFL is.

I'm confused...."our park???"....actually the game is in BC man, not Edmonton this time.

I live in Victoria, and commute to Lions games; we are ST holders in Section 17...hence "Our Park", or more precisely, "Our building".

Above all, I'm a fan of the CFL, so that comes first. (OK sometimes it's a really close race between being a CFL fan and a Lions fan )

Interesting thoughts, especially on the Running Game. I believe that if Esks establish the run in the first, then we'll have trouble with that stellar receiving corps of yours later on. For us, it has to be Warren out in the flat, to establish Simon and Thelwell in the open field.

And on a different subject, I'll post TG pics from the game on Esksfans on Saturday, just to embarress 56Parkies. (Mike, remember to wear your new Esks jersey..)

...and just to talk a little smack, BC is gonna find out on Friday WHO the team to beat in the CFL is.

What's the status of Simon's hamstring problem? Is he definitely playing? And what about Simmons?

The ESKS will be the first team with 6 wins. This will be a very entertaining football game. The ESKS just have too powerful of a D-Fence for BC to win this one. If the ESKS D is fired up and ready to play, we might even have to see Printers in the game because they will make Dickenson look foolish. Look for another punt return for a TD from Thompkins and another fine showing for RR. Like the Montreal game the only thing that can beat the ESKS is special teams (Landry). If they can contain Lockett fairly well I don't see BC having much success driving a long field against a dominate ESKS D-Fence.

It would be a 'huge mistake' to underestimate Dickenson and the Lions in this game Friday night. We saw what a quick release did to the Eskimo pass rush and if the Lions choose to go to a similar game plan, they will be more successful than Hamilton was because they have more offensive weapons. I expect this game to go down to the wire and the last team that has the ball is likely going to win the game...
