K, one of todays matchups....my thoughts from the Rider side of things...we need to get the crowd out of it early...gonna be damn loud in there...hell it is gonna be loud for the Lions on offense. I read even they were practicing with fake crowd noise! from a Rider D perspective, we need to smack DD around, hard, knock him out or whatever, hit him hard clean and often. if we do that we gotta chance...if you let those BC receivers have time to run around DD will find them, no doubt about it.

from Rider O perspective...if we cant run the ball tonight we are screwed. simple as that, we cant get down, we suck at playing from behind. I still feel that for us we gotta get pressure, that is the key to a victory for us. If we dont it could get ugly.

The keys for the Riders' success, IMO:

- big games from Nate and Scott. If they can rock DD's world and get him rattled early and for the entire tie he's in there, we will be in good shape. I'd like another shot at young Mr. Peirce with our healthy D line also! I predict 4 sacks.

- Our secondary is on fire and they will need to make a few big plays I am sure. Coverage on the excellent Lions receovers will aso be huge. I predict at least 2 picks.

- We need to be successful running on first down. GO COREY!!! If we can take the preassure off Marcus and consistently give him second and short, he'll move the ball well. I also want to see Marcus go deep on first down and test the Lion's DB's.

-The difference in this game may well be on special teams. The Lions have not seen Dorsey defore and Danny reports that he is like a man possessed out there! Look for some good returns from both teams. This leaves us with O'Mahoney and McCallum. Duncan is punting well but really sucking on his fg's. One of these games, his misses will cost the Lions the win. Paul is out of his early season funk and hitting the ball well. I predict that Duncan will struggle ...and Paul will come thru, possibly with the winning points in a tight game.

Agreed on most points, a sustained run attack is necessary. We dont have to win it with the running game, but its gonna be a factor.

It will be a close game. Not sure who will win(hope its BC)but whoever does will squeak it out. It will be interesting to see how BC responds to there first loss.
