My guess is the first year of his contract is going to be huge with each year after that much lower in salary in an attempt to get around the SMS. But if the league says the contract is good, I'm not going to complain either. Just laugh my ass off when he only get 32 catches for 478 yards this year.

It would be interesting to keep stats like that throughout the league and adjust salaries accordingly, based on production. We'd be seeing a lot less of that Nylon Queen type of player (as E4E would call him), and a timely end to vets like Fanny MacAnus.

As much as I hate Nik Lewis, he's one of the best receivers in the CFL and he's still incredibly young. He's going to put up Vaughn-like numbers for the Stampeders for a number of seasons and locking him up for 5 years is a very smart move on their part (although I'm guessing the numbers are very high).
