    Draft pick bust......literally

Marshall tackle's career might be over with arrest

HUNTINGTON -- A week ago, Marshall University defensive tackle Adrian Davis was selected in the Canadian Football League Draft.

But, now, the Montreal native's football career might be over.

After being arrested early Thursday here allegedly for felony drug possession with intent to distribute, Davis has been suspended indefinitely from the MU football program.

Marshall Coach Mark Snyder, who is out of town, released a statement through MU Sports Information Director Randy Burnside, saying that "Davis has been suspended indefinitely from the Marshall football program pending the outcome of the legal process following his arrest this morning in Huntington.

Upon the completion of the legal process his status with the football team will be re-evaluated."

Davis, who started all 11 games at defensive tackle for MU last season, is a 6-foot-3, 263-pound junior with one year of eligibility remaining.

He was expected to be a starter again next season after being credited with 18 tackles, a fumble recovery and three quarterback hurries last year.

Despite his status as a junior, the CFL was able to draft Davis as a "non-import," utilizing his Canadian nationality. Davis was selected in the fourth round as the No. 33 pick overall by his hometown Montreal Alouettes.

Sounds Like a great guy for the Alouettes, he should get along great with Carter and Nylon.
