    Average # of Years between Grey Cups...

    Okay, so I was bored......

    I started to figure out some stats surrounding the average # of years between Grey Cup wins for each of the teams in the CFL.....

    First off, some assumptions.......

    The stats are figured out for the years 1958 - today. I used 1958 because it was the first year the Canadian Football League officially existed. Picking the starting date for stats like this is the difficult part. If anyone feels that another date should be used, let me know and I can recalculate the stats....anyway, here they are....

    5 Years - Edmonton
    7 Years - Winnipeg
    7 Years - Ottawa
    8 Years - Hamilton
    9 Years - Toronto
    12 Years - Calgary
    12 Years - Montreal
    12 Years - BC
    24 Years - Saskatchewan

    Interesting that it was the Riders who moaned and bitched for a salary cap, and since a cap was put in place for them, they only years they've won they broke the salary cap rules.

          oh I getcha' Gris... ya said you where bored.. and instead of joining all those other Orca watching , Pilsner drinking, inbred hicks you deciced to USE your brain and provide us with some interesting stats.. .well done




          Edit: it was brought to my attention i spelled Oprah wrong...SO i have edited it. Thanks E4L - oh and i'm sorry for mispelling your favorite TV star's name wrong.

              Sure.....skip our 3 in a row 54,55,56 years. Start it in 54 so our stats can look better.

                    I say go back to when the Grey Cup was first awarded and take out any years that it was not played. Such as the war years which I think there may have been one or two years there.
                    Through the thick and the Thin I will bleed GREEN and GOLD.

                        Since 1954, when the Ontario Rugby Football Union stopped challenging for the Grey Cup, the trophy has been awarded only to professional teams with the championship generally being an East vs. West competition. This is also the year the British Columbia Lions started play as the ninth professional team, so although the CFL was not technically founded until the late 1950s, 1954 is often referred to as the start of the "modern era" of Canadian professional football. It is also considered to be the year the CFL was founded in substance if not in name
