Re: Khari traded to Stamps
Winnipeg just became a carbon copy of Toronto.
Great Defense and special teams but not much offense.
This is a pretty good trade for Winnipeg- the interesting part is the addition of Regimbald.. Wade Miller is a joke at fullback.

Re: Khari traded to Stamps
I honestly don't know how much better Calgary will be with Khari, if at all. Bomber fans may disagree with me, but I don't think Khari is that good of a QB, personally. He had two stellar seasons, but has declined significantly since then. It's hard to say if he can rejuvenate his career in Calgary, or if those two seasons in Winnipeg (2001 and 2002) were just flukes, meaning that he won't improve the Calgary offence at all. Besides, he doesn't really have any receivers to throw to on the Stamps, and his success in Winnipeg was largely bolstered by Milt Stegall. It will be interesting to see what happens, but personally, I don't see him making much difference at all."The longer that I'm married, the more I realize that the wife is right" - Angelus, July 24, 2010

Re: Khari traded to Stamps
IMO Fleming is over-rated. He is a very good lineman but I'm not sure he is as good as most people keep telling me he is. And isn't this the second time he has basically quit on a team? He was gone in the off season anyway, I think the Stamps did a good job to at least get something for him. Khari may not be the best QB in the league but he should be a definate upgrade for them. I think the Stamps defence is good enough to overcome the loss of Fleming and Lysak and their O just got better. Now if they could get an O-line and a reciever who can catch they could make a run in the West. These pretzels are making me thirsty.

My thoughts exactly... Now Winnipeg has decent talent, but absolutely no QB. I can't believe they traded their only decent QB away, that would be like Montreal trading away Calvillo.
I'm also surprised Calgary would give up Regimbald, he's a good one.If you were an Argo fan, what reason would you have for watching football?

Fleming said on TV that Calgary was his "CFL home"... sounds like the Bombers got a rent-a-player for 4 games. I expect Fleming will sign back in Calgary in the off-season.Originally posted by earl2IMO Fleming is over-rated. Real dumb trade by the 6-12 Bombers, although it will make the Battle of Alberta more exciting! If you were an Argo fan, what reason would you have for watching football?

Re: Khari traded to Stamps
first of all, winnipeg didnt gain anything in the fullback position, bowles is much better than reginabald, who will be a backup behind wade miller. second of all, i dont see how you can say this trade makes winnipegs defense good. it upgrades them, but they still arent good, they are in the lower of the league defensively. i too dont think glenn can do much for them, and i think we need to see what tee martin can do in there. as for wes lysak, thats one really big "meh".I told those f***s down at the league office a thousand times that I don't roll on Shabbos!

Re: Khari traded to Stamps
Regimbald is legit for what they will ask him to do in Winnipeg, which is to block for Roberts and catch the ball occaisionally out of the backfield. If you are backing up a guy like Wade Miller at fullback IMO you should be ashamed of yourself. Seeing Miller line up at fullback makes me cringe out of embarassment for the Bombers. Miller has absolutely no business whatsoever playing fullback in the CFL. Is he a great special teams player? Asolutely. Fullback? He!! no!! The addition of Regimbald will help twofold- the running game will improve as Regimbald is a stout run blocker as he is adept at passblocking defensive ends (he is a big body). He also has good hands coming out of the backfield as he was a tight end in college down in the States..Originally posted by lloydfirst of all, winnipeg didnt gain anything in the fullback position, bowles is much better than reginabald, who will be a backup behind wade miller. second of all, i dont see how you can say this trade makes winnipegs defense good. it upgrades them, but they still arent good, they are in the lower of the league defensively. i too dont think glenn can do much for them, and i think we need to see what tee martin can do in there. as for wes lysak, thats one really big "meh".
Fleming will take the pressure off of Doug Brown on the inside and free up the outside rushers to make plays. When the push is good from the middle the qb will scramble up from or out of the pocket resulting in Swac and Canada being the beneficiaries of that interior push.
Lysack is a good young Canadian Safety who is smart and doesn't make too many mistakes, something that Drover and Morgan have struggled with all year.
I think this is a great trade for Winnipeg as Fleming and Regimbald are both strong leaders in the dressing room who will make their impact felt right away both on and off of the field. Regimbald and Lysack are also an outstanding special teams players.
Winnipeg will benefit the most short term from this trade, while Calgary might benefit from it more long term at the qb position provided Khari stays healthy. Bowles is a question mark. The fact that he backed up Wade Miller (Cringe) raises alarm bells in my mind..
My two cents.

Re: Khari traded to Stamps
i think if they chose miller ahead of bowles i dont think much will change with reginabald in the fold. flemming is the only player in this deal for winnipeg that has the ability to make a difference on the defense for hte reasons that jeb stated. however, i hdont think lysak can improve the secondary very much if any at all, theres just to many missing pieces back there.
that being said, it will be interesting to see what the bombers can do on offense. i think it might come back to bite them.I told those f***s down at the league office a thousand times that I don't roll on Shabbos!
