    Wall of Fame

Seeing Willie Pless getting his name on the Wall of Fame yesterday got me thinking. Which of the current Esks do you think we'll one day see up there?

    Terry Vaughn?
    Sean Fleming?
    Singor Mobley?
    Chris Morris?

    What do you think?

You can vote for more than one. And let me know if you think other names should be added.

TV is a given.......he already has a CFL record, could hold a few more before finishing....

wish I knew I could have picked more than one before I entered......D'oh!

Vaughn (slamdunk), Morris (same), Frank (perhaps), Mobes (on his way but the bar is set quite high for LB's), Fleming (probably)

Vaughn for sure. The others are all worthy in one way or another. Although he's been a fav of mine for years I don't think Morris will make it. The thing that will hurt Mobes a bit will be the fact he was in the NFL for a couple years right in his prime. Probably a good chance for Flemming.

Morris has been a career Eskimo and probably one of the toughest men ever to suit up for the Green and Gold. I'm pretty sure that the organization will honour a guy who never got any fanfare but has been an anchor for many years. I'd be disappointed if they didn't.

              Re: Wall of Fame

kudos for this poll Phil, I actually went to sleep last night and it got me thinking about who played for the Esks that could have been worthy to be either on the wall or in the hall in Hamilton.......here are a few names that either should be on the wall or could have made it if their career had lasted.....

Jim Germany - had all the talent to go to the Hall of Fame, but his career never lasted long enough (IMO still deserves a spot on the wall for his importance in the 5 GC run)

Joe Hollomon - One of the best DB's to ever play in the CFL, the ONLY Eskimo chosen to the all-time CFL team who walked the field at Grey Cup 93 in Calgary.

Ron Estay - Overlooked playing with Dr.Death, Swampdog anchored the D-line for 9 years (73-81) and deserves a spot on the wall.

Damon Allen - sure he has spent most of his career in other cities, but this future hall of famer broke into the league with us and won us two championships '87 & '93. worthy of the wall.

Blake Marshall - seven seasons with the Esks terrorizing anyone who got between him and the goal line, worthy of the wall IMO.....

Reggie Taylor - could have been one of the best RB's to ever play for the Green & Gold, career cut far too short.

Stanley Blair - only played 3 seasons from 87-89, but could have been one of the best DB's to ever play in the league....dominant shut-down player who would take the ball from a receiver whether he had a cast on his arm or not...career far too short.

They discussed this on the post game show on 630 Ched. The consensus was TV would be the next.

Blair was the best cover guy I've ever seen.

The Marshall/Taylor backfield was our best backfield ever. (I am too young to remember the Bright/Kwong days. )

Should be there, but the bad blood that came up between he and the team will probably keep him off.

                    You bet

Swampdog should be there as well, don't know if he will.

Damon Allen - sure he has spent most of his career in other cities, but this future hall of famer broke into the league with us and won us two championships '87 & '93. worthy of the wall.
Can't see it. Moved around too much.

Blake Marshall - seven seasons with the Esks terrorizing anyone who got between him and the goal line, worthy of the wall IMO.....
If there's anyone who epitomized Eskimo Football in the past quarter century, it's Blake. He has to go up. As soon as they get that clonning thing figured out, we need to get a DNA sample.

Again too short of a time here. IMO Kavis Reed was better.

Bob Howse, Leo Blanchard, Larry Wruck, Leroy Blugh, Trent Brown, Rod Connop, Marco Cyncar, Blake Dermott, Leo Groenewegen,Hecter Pothier, Jed Roberts, Bill Stevenson, Donnie Warrington, Bennie Goods. Just a few more names to throw around. I think they may need to build another wall though

I agree, but he did win us two of our 14 Cups.

How about honoring James Bell in some way? Is #17 retired?

I think that Rod Connop will be the next Eskimo up.

After him and Blake Marshall, Larry Wruck deserves it the most but probably won't get it.

#47 does deserve it as well.....that is a brain fart on my part for not including him on that list.......same with Rod (but it is so tough to gauge with O-Linemen) I could also say that Bubba Dermott, Hec Pothier, & Bill Stevenson deserve recognition as well....

Blair & Taylor as stated did not play long enough and fell under having the potential but not enough time served to make the wall......

Lately, part of the criteria it seems is fan popularity as well. LW should be there as he's second to Pless in Eskimo tackles is he not?
