    Shaun Suisham

Is he gonna be our kicker/punter for next year??? or is he staying in the NFL???

I hope he will be our kicker/punter for next year, cause Sean Fleming is getting old and hes not that good anymore. We need a kicker who is young and could kick very good field goals.

    Re: Shaun Suisham

the esks need to plan for the future, but fleming is still a very good kicker.
his punt average was down because the coaches always ask him to directional punt for field position and i believe he was something like 79% on field goals. very decent.
The field goal that was blocked in the late season wasn't his fault, check the replay and notice the line didn't block properly.

Last I saw he was signed by the 49ers to their practice squad but I thought I saw somewhere he was released shortly after. I could be wrong.

Either way, if we can, he should be brought up here next year if possible.

"kick very good field goals" ? to me that just makes absolutely no sense.

As for Wad - he isnt done yet - but we do need to bring in an eventuall replacement.. time is running out on Wad...

Ideally, we should have a kicker on our PR next season that we can invest our time into becoming Fleming's replacement.

Flemings range is inside 50. We need a new kicker.

Fleming's downfall is that he is inconsistent. He always goes on skids, and hasn't been good on the long field goals. In fact it seems like they won't even let him try the 50 yarders. I would like to see DM bring in a kicker and still keep Wad around to punt.
              Our balls are bigger, eh.

Need? Naw. Wad can still play and if we don't have a good new kicker next season he still does both jobs. He's steady and underrated. However, if we have a chance to bring in the new Shaun, we do so. We need to be looking out for a future that doesn't include Fleming because it is coming.

DM was mentioning some other kickers as well like the guy on St. Leonard's. Fleming goes on streaks it seems more good than bad but still unpredictable. It is time to groom a new kicker to take over within 1 or 2 years. Hope we can get a consistent one like what otehr teams seem to have done.

Didn't Wad kick a 47 yarder against Sask. in the last game. He easily made it. 50 yarders are not out of his range.
How does he become the Esks leading all time kicker in a shorter time if he's so inconsistant.
I remember Cutler being inconsistant in the 30-35 yard range(which is supposed to be a kickers bread and butter, unless you are Mcallum 17 yarders, and nobody wanted his head and he only had one job)
Why are people so against Fleming?????????

Nothing against Wad, but we need to invest in our future so there isn't a huge hole left when he packs it in. Having someone to push him and allowing them to be mentored by him isn't a bad idea at all. By the next two years Wad will be looking at the door anyway and we would need someone to fill his shoes. He would be a good role model for the newbie!!

I have nothing against him but he's past his time. I don't think he's hit a field goal longer than 50 yards in about 3 seasons. Won't he be 37 next season?

I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

Exactly. Fleming easily has five more good years left in him if he chooses to continue to play. As far as kicking, he was arguably the most consistent player on the entire team this season. In at least a couple games, he was the only offense that we seemed to have - five field goals in one game, IIRC. Although he shanks a lot more punts than he used to, I'd take him over any kicker in the league hands down. Finding a replacement for Fleming should be the least of our worries this off-season or anytime soon.
