1st overall: Adam Braidwood DE - made the team played well a long term starter.

17th: Jason Nugent DB - Injured most of last year, got into at least one game was eyed as a top prospect but his knee injury is still a concern.

21: Dwayne Mundle LB - Cut in camp

26: Andrew Brown LB - Cut in camp

34: J.P. Abraham LB - Made the team out of camp, was on and off the roster during the season.

42: Nicolas Bisaillon RB - Showed some flashes at camp at slot, went back to Laval, I would guess he'd be back in camp this year.

50: Grieg Longchamps OL - Stayed around on the psquad all year if i am not mistaken. I would guess he wouild be back at camp this year.


Here are our 2007 draft positions. I don't know if we have any more picks coming our way from trades (other than the Carson deal) or if we have traded any picks from this years draft. an official list will come out sooner or later on the CFL site. (later most likley)

2, 10, 13, 18, 26, 34, 42

Hopefully we can cash in with players that have a shot with at least the first 3 picks.

We need to address three areas. Oline depth, NI linebacker, and Dline

Dline will be just as important with the loss of Char. Spencer hasn't proven that he can be an every down player and last the season and right now we have no depth there as far as NI goes

To acquire Lee, the Eskimos relinquished their 6th round selection in the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft.

yeah, I was just doing the same search on CFL.ca

I was slower in searching, but found the same thing

thats not such a big deal then... granted last years earlier picks at LB were mostly useless but the OL and RB picked later on were the ones we held on to

OLine and DLine then are the two priorities according to Esksfans....Of course that seemed to be our priority last year too and how many OLineman did we draft??

Oline/Dline depth should be our priority, although i hated carson and his "feet-stuck-in-concrete" he was a guy that knew the system and could step in if there was a need. Losing Charboneau hurts our Dline depth but he was getting old and losing his ability to push the pocket with his pass rush. LB should also be a priority however I think its harder to pick up an impact LB in the canadian draft.

In speaking last year with someone higher up in the player decision making chain last year at camp, the esks priority has shifted to NI's out of the NCAA in the skill spots, while we will still continue to expand our scouting for the road grader types up here

I hope someones been looking at the canadian road graders at Boise State!! Lots of people have been talking about that team but not much has been said about the something like 4-5 canadians on that team all but one of which are OL or DL!! I think one of them is esks property all ready but with the team they had we should look at more of them!!

Last years #3 pick Mike Williams could be one of those road grader types. 6-3 / 244 on the D-Line seems a tad undersized and his stats at Boise are somewhat under-whelming. Perhaps a shift to the LB corp are in order.......

I have to say that looking for "road graders" up here is a bad strategy. Theres plenty of canadians playing in the trenches down south. These guys have played better competition, been better coached for the most part, and have been on better training plans then there canadian counterparts. We ought to spend more time scouting these guys even if they arent starters there level of play may be higher then the guys we get out of CIS
