OK...I've sat quietly by...watching the absurd comments on this site.
I realize most post are made by those with nothing better to do and with no real backing for their comments...that is fine...that is the beauty of the internet...it gives us all a chance to rant and rave...
BUT...
Ridiculous comments like..."I don't want to see Avery get a ring"... and "A very ordinary team won the Grey Cup today"..."make Barrett a ball boy or something..." are completely assinine...what the He** kind of fans are you really?...
The whinings on this site are ridiculous...and as soon as someone speaks with non-(supposedly fan (or friend) related comments)...they get booted...that is foolish...if you can't respect the voice of regular fans then this site shouldn't exist..
I know that we all have our inner thoughts...
However, to cry and whine because the Esks aren't in the final and to be pleased because the head coach is now unemployed and has lost his total financial support of his family is totally ludicrous...(and worse yet...to be pleased because someone can no longer support his family financially (at least as of this posting) is insane.)
I am embarrased to put myself in the same category as those who claim to be "Eskimo' fans on this site...
It's only a game folks...just look what happened in Sask...Cripes..they're only human...enjoy the game...that's what it's all about...
Bottom line is the Argos won tonight...and they deserve it...it was great to see Damon win it all again today...if anyone can't respect that...well..maybe they aren't real football fans...or just want to cheer for a winner...geez...winning is always a thrill and it's what brings out the excitement in our lives...but...winning isn't everything...being a real fan is so much more fulfilling...try it once...you might get a few more regular posters on this site...

I said I didn't want to see Avery win the Cup. And I stand by that. How does that make me a bad fan or a whiner?

We've only "booted" two people here. And both were completely justified and had absolutely nothing to do with their team allegiance or anything like that. It had to do with being disrespectful and posting crap.

You have 5 posts Stanley. You have not earned the respect here to come out and say the things you've said. You'll take a rep hit from me but you will not be "booted" although if what you said is true, I think you would be.

I've been an Eskimo fan since I was a kid...over 40 years...I think I have all the right to say what I've said...as for respect...nothing personal...but..!!!seriously now...if being a lifelong fan hasn't earned me the right to speak my mind as an Eskimo fan then what the heck does?...just because I don't always get involved with the talks here or agree with all that is said, does that mean I should just stay quiet forever and not speak my mind?...or be a "yes" I agree with you totally man because I don't want to be the next booted guy?...threats to boot someone because they speak their mind borders communism...I don't know what a "rep hit" is...nor do I care...I'm way too old for that kind of stuff...I think we all are here for the Eskimos and our love/belief in them...I respect the work you have done here to gather all true? Esk fans...I would just like to see a little more positive comments and not so much whining... I never called you a "bad fan"... I think your insight and comments into happenings with the Eskimos give us all such a clearer look at what is happening...especially with your updates with training camp...(that was super by the way)...thanks...
I live in a little town in the middle of nowhere (at least by most people's standards)...but tonight I had my Chrismas lights (green and gold only) shinning brightly througout the game...had to have a little bit of Eks in the world tonight...
I have no intention of posting crap or being disrespectful to the Eskimos...I am just fed up with the crap of most posting on what should be the ultimate Eskimo fan site...lighten up people...it's just a game!...

He's find employment somehwere else, just not here. I wouldn't feel too bad for him as he is being paid DOUBLE what his contract allows. When was the last time you had to leave a job and got paid double?

You certainly have a right to say what you want, Stanley, but I certainly disagree with you.

The VAST majority of posts on here are respectful and people generally try to back up their opinions as best they can. Sure, many of us may lack detailed football knowledge, but we still have the right to have opinions on our favorite team and the CFL.

That is not whining for someone to say they don't want Avery to get a ring. That's just what being a fan is all about. Liking or disliking a team or player doesn't have to be based on a logical evaluation of the facts. Hey, if someone said they wanted Avery to get hurt or something like that, that would be over the line, but just cheering against him isn't.

I think most of us really enjoy the CFL, which is why we care enough to post on sites like these.

The only time I've seen someone threatened to be booted is when they were posting mean-spirited remarks that were not advancing the dialogue of the posts. I myself have had differences of opinion with posters like Angelus, Esks4ever, fishman, and Diesel (to name a few) but have never felt unwelcome or that I was under attack from these people.

Just because Avery didn't resign with the Esks doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a shot at the Cup...if he had resigned with the Esks would you still feel the same way about him? or do you just despise him (for lack of a better word) so much because he chose Toronto?...
Bottom line is...do you not want to see him with a Cup ring because he signed elsewhere...because he chose another team other than the Eskimos...?... had he won a Cup with the Eskimos...would you still feel the same way?... let's face it...had he come back to the Eskimos with Pringle...and a healthy Mills..he never would have stuck anyway...
