there only seems to be about 3 people Fishman is arguing with, it doesnt seem like a whole member base that is whining to me.

its a post by migs.
i havent seen much whining going on over there, and i wouldnt hesitate to agree if there was. Any fan trying to argue their teams points at another teams site is wasting there time.

Did the RR not get some support in the 80's from the league? I know they had their problems but I can't remember the specifics.

To be honest im not sure. I dont think the riders were ever bailed out by other teams, but they did have telethons. i know Hugh Campbell donated in the telethon.

Someone may be able to correct me though.

I haven't checked in on that for awhile.........I actually had a life I figured I'd check in on tonight for a while..............dollar seemed to agree with me, I'll have to check in a bit to see how far they have progressed in my absence.....

as I had stated in the thread that Muley pointed out at rf, the Riders were recipients of gate equalization payments that took from the coffers of teams such as the Esks, Lions, and Argos up to the mid-80's......after reading much of the diatribe from some at the other site, it is quite disheartening to me that so many can share such a myopic view that the needs of their team are greater than the needs of the league.....

Considering the socialist nature of the province, you'd think that Rider fans would be happy about the subsidy to the Argos.

Maybe you should mention Alberta transfer payments that are diverted into Saskatchewan.

Rider fans are nuts. I think they suffer from tunnel vision. Perhaps they have spent far too much time in those gopher holes.

you're likely right there Lloyd....I think the main problem is that I'm not a rider fan, hence I must be against them.....this has nothing to do with affiliation though IMO, it is too bad that some would rather bicker than try to see a different view....
