      So true but I think it was some peoples dislike for Higgy blinded them into thinking anything is better, me included. After having them win in 05 made this guy look like the real deal.

        I'm starting to think its time for a change aswell. maybe its time we forget about hiring asstcoaches and making them a HC for the first time and hire an actual HeadCoach.

            ^ Right now I honestly don't know but something has to be done. I mean when was the last time we hired someone who was an actual CFL HC before. i can only think of 2 names in 30plus years. maybe there are asst ones out there who could do the job but it seems like we alays find the ones who fail.

            Maybe Don Mattews could be hired to take the Football Ops role as mentioned on another thread. The guy I havealways wanted over the last 10 years or so was John Hufnagel but he is making too much money asn NFL asst.

              As much as I'd like to see the Don back here, nope. I wanted Mike Reiley way back when but that ain't gonna happen either. I also wanted Wally when he left Cramptown. Right now I have no idea. My skull hurts too much.

                I didn't like him as OC. I thought he was bad during the 05 season, but was still new so gave him a break. I started to hate him last year. And now he's run out of chances. He has never proven that he can lead a team, never proven he's worthy of being a HC at all. Time to go, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

                I wonder how many HC's would be willing to come in and tackle the quagmire that the esks have become?

                    Yes, the quarterbacking was crappy with the likes of Corey Colhauer and Don Trull. Then along came this NFL cut named Bruce Lemmerman and some guy from Wyoming that had just been traded from B.C. Since then the team has been fairly solid at QB and is today.

                    But, it's defences that win championships and in the seasons we had a decent D, the team thrived. The past two seasons has seen the defence first get old and with the new bodies, has lost a big chunk of the leadership. Gass tries to lead by example but his gimpy knees limit him in the open field. Somebody on the D line and a DB needs to step up and share the load.

                        I think that most of us leaned that way.

                          I've been off this board for awhile because I hadn't had the heart to write anything.... untill now! DDS(all the respect tohim in the world) didn't get banned and verbally lambasted like some others!!! Esk modes were all over a select few of us at the time for stating what we were seeing/didn't see in our head coach.... and we got dumped on BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!
                          I'm not looking for an apology from anyone 'cause what's done is done..... i'm just asking "those folks"(and you know who you are) to remember this post next time you slam a guy who at the time is in the minority... being in the minority doesn't make you wrong.... well, at least not in this case!
                          As a loyal fan I feel just like many of you... totally disgusted with how the talent,playcalling and character of this team has been mismanaged. I stated we would go 8 and 10 this year back in June..... i'm afraid that even that now is merely a pipe dream!
                          I've said all along... if the players are made accountable, the coaches MUST be made accountable...... the man has done NOTHING to imrpove this team.... and he needs to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                            People got dumped on because instead of using constructive critisim, they resorted to insults and name calling. Quite frankly the mod group got fed up with things that were deteriorating to a day care on ridalin situation that was running rampant.

                            You want to be angry, fine. You want to complain, go ahead. All we ask is that it's kept with a sense of decorum and taste. None of the mods make a red cent for having to wade through the mountain of posts when we're just as grumpy as the rest of you, so it's appreciated when we don't have to continually pick up soiled diapers...

                              Dies... you're a knowledgable poster and I respect that... but perhaps you should "ckeck those diapers a littlex more closely"! I haven't been any harder on DM than some other people on this board... I just haven't pulled any punches and have tried to balance my disappoint with the appropeiate level of sarcasm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
                              You wanna blame me for being emotionally committed to my team... no prob, I can readily accept that from you 'cause you're as big a fan as I am.... but that other crap is simply deflection/misdirection from the fact that some folks were right ... and were chastized for it! Nuff said!

                              As for misdirection, I saw in the bano game and Als game where they swing the pass back (even a qb pitch) to the off motion side... with Ebells ability.... why not?????????????????

                                Wait until the off-season to fire him. There is still time left in the season to get into the playoffs. Alot can happen with 8 games left.
