.......our back-up QB has to play better than Calgary's back-up. But in the long run what will it mean to either team as their chances of success in the post season is now next to none.

And DM will survive another year of missing the playoffs and he will likely remain as coach for another dismal year.

I don't mind LeFors, he was put in a tough spot but he'll get better. He had no time and was down a receiver on most plays....I'm confident that he'll play better than Akili.

what the heck nanookster...i thought u said the riders would fall to 3rd and esks of calgary would get 2nd.....if i remember correctly. ur predictions are beginning to go wrong.

He could still be right. The Riders could still lose today. And while that doesn't help the Esks gain ground this week it would mean the 4th loss in a row for your downward spiraling team.

Lefors look OK back there. As he gets more reps and gets more confident, I he may be able to do some good. He looked pretty good at scrambling too. Calgary will still suck, Sask will continue to slide. If our defense keeps playing good and Lefors gives us a chance, it still could turn out ok.

Lefors look OK back there. As he gets more reps and gets more confident, I he may be able to do some good. He looked pretty good at scrambling too. Calgary will still suck, Sask will continue to slide. If our defense keeps playing good and Lefors gives us a chance, it still could turn out ok.

The thing I like about Lefors is that he's mobile and he has a pretty good arm.

Losing Ricky is every bit as monumental as everyone may think it is. He is arguably the best player in the league and his contributions to this team can't be measured.

That being said, we can win games with any of our 3 quarterbacks. I've got faith that with 1st team reps Stefan Lefors will show his worth, as would Steven Jyles if the situation calls for his service. This team will rally around Stefan and elevate our play so that the game slows down for him.

Losing Ray is huge, but then when Ray got his chance to shine it was because Maas was hurt, I am sure most of you were pretty worried about what would happen then. If there is one thing the Eskimos have been historically good at it is finding talent at the QB position. you have solid receivers, and will probably see more focus on the running game with Lefors in. I personally would rather face the Esks with anyone other than Ricky Ray at the helm, but I am not prepared to write them off, while the short term pain could be bad, the long term gain, if the Esks find a more balanced offensive attack, could pay dividends down the road. Not to mention, given a week of first team reps, who is to say that Lefors can not get it done.

In the history of the Eskimos, we have had a surplus of great QBs who come in and replace a potentially irreplaceable QB. Think Moon after Wilkie....Allen after Moon....and other such as Ham, McManus, Maas, Dunnigan, etc.

I love your attitude. I think you've been about the steadiest guy on the squad this year. Obviously, I respect your opinion on Eskimo/CFL/Football related issues.

However...The offence just went two games with zero TDs. For almost one, and a half of those games. Rick was the guy throwing the ball. You call him " arguably the best player in the league. "

I am not referring specifically to you in the following...I use the word " you " but I mean the Eskimos as a whole.

If the Eskimos couldn't score with RR. How do you expect to win with Stefan ? How are you going to elevate your play for a rookie BU ? Or maybe the question should be...Weren't you playing at your highest level all along ?

Then of course there's the play calling. What happened in the 9 days between the Mtl games ?

5 offensive TDs in the first game...None in the second...Even worse...None again last night. If the team can't score with RR, how can the fans have confidence that you are not only going to score, but actually win with Stefan ?

You said " we can win games with any of our 3 quarterbacks " The evidence seems to suggest otherwise. Last night was a VERY winable game. It was still a 1 point game at the half. The Esks lost by a single TD.

And as much as I love your attitude, and your play on the field this year. At the end of the day...You are but one player. Who says that every one of the other 41 guys out there, are willing to do what you are to ensure victory ?

I don't see the " Am I my brother's keeper " attitude, of past Eskimo teams. The attitude where you demanded 100% from yourself every play, and that you also demanded it from the guy on your right, and the guy on your left. If you're giving 100%, and everyone else is as well...You can't elevate your play.

Even if the team can rally behind Stefan...No matter how much faith I have in the guys wearing the jersey ( Believe me...I have complete faith in the players. I always have, and always will ) . I have no faith in DM, or Chappy. They have not produced. They take " passive " to a new level.

I still have faith, and am hoping for the best. I'm ever the Eskimo optimist, but...If it ain't workin when it's fixed...It's damn hard to believe it will work when it's broke.

No offence intended to you, or any other player, but that's my honest opinion. I just really wanted to throw that out there.
