If Calgary trades their top pick...

On the 13th man there was a discussion about Calgary perhaps picking Lumsden then trading him, perhaps to Hamilton. What do you think of the scenario below. (Obviously it won't happen but don't we love to speculate?) Would the three way trade below be feasable value wise do you think or would one of the teams be getting ripped off?

Calgary picks Lumsden then, Three way deal, Lumsden to Edmonton for one of their starting guards plus something else, perhaps Scott Robinson or Nowacki. Edmonton swaps Lumsden to Hamilton for Troy Davis. (Edmonton might have to give up someone else off of their psquad or neg list as well.)

Yeah, he and Comiskey came over when we dealt Nealon.

But we had Ronald Williams and a new guy by the name of John Avery in camp...

Keep dreaming. Lumsden may be good, but Troy Davis is one of the best three backs in the league. No way do the Cats consider that unless you throw in Hugh's three first born kids.

not even in the realm of possibility......who knows whats going to happen with Lumsden, but I wouldn't be trading off anyone from our O-Line, if anything I'd be looking at strengthening it by any means neccissary.....who knows, the Stamps might just want Lumsden for themselves......

I would not mind seeing the Esks get Lumsden - but the cost would have to be right - Nowacki is to steep a price IMO.

I agree that Davis is in the top three, perhaps the top back but teams have done stranger things if they feel that Lumsden can come close to filling the spot at halfback, get some Canadian talent and have an extra import to play elsewhere you never know. Especially when Lumsden played for Marshall. Lamar was one of the best linebackers in the league the first half of last year and Marshall cut him outright.

As for the assertion that we don't want to remove anyone from an already weak O-line, guard is one spot where we actually have some potential depth. Carson is more suited to play guard. Our big worry areas are at tackle.

Lumsden trade from Calgary would never happen as you say, but I would prefer to keep him rather than three way him elsewhere if I could get him. I would love to see a Bradley / Lumsden backfield, that would be great IMO....a true fullback when needed, not just a blocker and being Cdn.... If he can put up numbers from the fullback position, would be a good improvement to our team IMO.

memories of a Germany / Lumsden backfield just popped into my head.....ahhhh.....
