The Eskimos will be having a scrimmage on Saturday, June 7 in Spruce Grove. This event will be combined with the grand opening of a dandy two-field, artifical-turf facility. This facility is like nothing else in the Edmonton region, probably in Alberta. All are invited. If you come out, say hi. I'l be the one wearing the Leroy Blugh game-worn jersey or a signed jersey of some kind (TBA). Details may change but right now it looks like the facility opening will be at 11 a.m. and the team will scrimmage starting at 1 p.m. for two hours. Mark your calendars.

Re: Esks coming to Spruce Grove
no kidding......hey, I think it's only fair that an occasion like this should mean some freebies on MG for any of us coming out his way....Originally posted by Beerfish View PostFree burgers and pop? Least you could do.
Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

What a perfect opportunity for the City of Spruce Grove to showcase it's new facility! Great idea MG - and Spruce Grove City Council!Originally posted by Opus View Postno kidding......hey, I think it's only fair that an occasion like this should mean some freebies on MG for any of us coming out his way....
Being as how the Esks workout is tied in with the Grand Opening of the new facility, I assume there will be complimentary burgers, dogs and pop, MG??

Re: Esks coming to Spruce Grove
On Hwy 16A, go to the last set of lights as you head west and turn north on Campsite Road. You'll see it on your left-hand side. If on Hwy 16, go west to the Campsite Road overpass and go south. You'll see the new complex on your RH side. It's immediately south of the TriLeisure Centre.Originally posted by gizmo fan 2 View PostSweet. I'm there.

BTW, MG, where exactly is this new facility?
Only if you share.Originally posted by pete View PostThe real question is are peanuts allowed?!?!

Just reminding folks of the Esks scrimmaging in the Grove this Saturday. It'll be at the new West District Park, which is at the far west end of town. Gates open at 11, there will be some entertainment at 11:30. Grand opening ceremonies are at noon, with the Esks scrimmaging from 1-3 p.m. There will be free food for the first 2,000 people from 1-3. See you there.
