That said, stampeder fans aren't much different, as evidenced on some Calgary message boards.

So...who do you hate more, and would want missing the playoffs next year (if only one of them missed it)

It would feel great if we can just snatch a key free agent from one of those teams (i.e John Grace) - cue the CAP whining

I hate Calgary more. Its Calgary ffs! I never used to mind the Riders, until I discovered the internet and saw what kind of paranoid wackos some of their support are.

Being an Eskie fan means having a permanent hate for our neighbours to the south. That's why we HAVE a "Battle of Alberta".

As for Saskatchewan, how can you really hate 'em? I mean.. that's like hating the kid that always got picked last for pick-up hockey..

I hate the Riders. It use to be the Stampeders hands down. I'd actually cheer for the Riders anytime they were playing other teams. Including the 97 Grey Cup.

Then I discovered the internet and took note that Rider fans hate us. They hate us with extreme prejudice. They detest us. Hate boils over when they speak of our success. They hate us more then Calgary fans hate us.

To top it off, most Rider players are pompous arses. Regular season wins are treated like Grey Cup wins (because they are).

But I do hate Calgary too (Flames are my #1 hate). Stamps just suck.

HA! I think the poll was referring to teams, not fans. Right every game is a grey cup win, would would explain he extreme displeasure on many players faces after the WF loss. You accusation is baseless, please elaborate on taht phrase for me...

Why is it baseless?

The cause of my hate for the Riders is due to the distaste Rider fans have for the Eskimos.

So the basis for my dislike of the Riders is based on the way Rider fans dislike the Eskimos.

Don't worry Lloyd, you aren't included. As you are a fan of the Eskimos whether you like it, or even recognize, the fact that you are.

SSK players are arrogant.

I almost (almost) had some sympathy for CGY lately...I still hate them, and enjoy beating them, but lately I've enjoyed beating SSK more because it's less of a sure thing.

I'll say "both of the above".

True that. It's the same thing with Miami Dolphins...while it's great to see them in the sewers of the league, they're so pathetic that you can't help but feel sorry for them.


While I hate every team in the CFL to different extents and for different reasons (except Ottawa and Hamilton, to whom I'm relatively indifferent) my vote went to Calgary. It's the ABC's of sports, and now that Higgins is down there, I just have all the more reason. But if Saskatchewan had more than two Grey Cups and had won one more recently than 1989, the situation might be a little different.
