Re: Luxury Box Rentals
Maybe the forum should book this for a game. If we can get 16 people paying 250 each.A lot of people go through life doing things badly. Racing is important to men who do it well. When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting." Michael Delaney AKA- Steve McQueen

Re: Luxury Box Rentals
Let me rephrase this.
Obviously, the Eskimos have a luxury box on their hands because, over the past two years, they have done everything humanly possible to disuade whoever purchased the box from ever doing that again.
And now, the Eskimo organization if so desparate and hungry for money that they're flogging the box to everyday working stiffs like you and me for $4.000.00 per game - except for the Saskatchewan and Calgary games when they will try to soak us an extra $500 per game to make it $4,500 per game.
How pathetic. It just goes to show you where the priorities of this football club are - an extra $500 per game? Give me a freakin' break! Oh, but I forgot - your $4,000 or $4,500 gets you complimentary copies of the program. How big of RL.
Cheers,
SH

Re: Luxury Box Rentals
Swivel Hips. First of all, great rant.
However, I don't think that is the case!
Like the Oilers, the Esks have a number of luxury boxes that they likely / usually sell to corporate sponsors (mega price tag keeps it out of the reach of usual joe schmoes).
I believe the Esks have more than one luxury suite -- you only have to look no further than under the covered sections on the East and West sides for e.g. and the little rooms with the fenced seating areas.
So to me, this year, one of the companies that rents said luxury suite walked away from it...and the Esks have been unable to sell it to someone else. Considering the money in this town nowadays -- that is VERY telling.

Re: Luxury Box Rentals
They have another page listing season rentals for 10 / 16 seat suites for the season

Can't say I've every really looked into it in the past, so whether this hasn't been publicized in the past, I don't know.Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

Re: Luxury Box Rentals
It reveals what trouble the Eskimos are in. The corporate market doesn't want to entertain people in these boxes due to the product on the field being crappy. End of story.Originally posted by boydo View PostThere have been luxury boxes open for a few years...this is just the first year that they're selling it on a game by game basis.Placing the Alberta Flag on the Calgary Flames uniform is akin to putting lipstick on a Pig

Re: Luxury Box Rentals
I realize all of the above. In fact, I've been in one of them several times, as one of my friends has purchased one the last number of years.Originally posted by Muley69 View PostSwivel Hips. First of all, great rant.

I'll have to phone him and ask if it was him that cancelled.
