Just Got Back....

What a brutal game. I was expecting some taunting and shenanigans when I showed up in my esks gear, but I think most of the fans in my section spent more time yelling in my face than actually watching the game.

I didn't think it was possible, but my hatred for the Riders and their fans has increased ten fold. There was one good Rider fan there. ONE. The rest were all a bunch of ignorant idiots...no respect whatsoever. No opposition fan at Commonwealth would ever be treated that way.

The game was disappointing...same old DM BS. I don't believe for one instance that Chaps had full control of the offense last season. It's the same garbage. Ray has to be better as well. It would be nice to have play calling that called for at least one receiver to go further than 15 yards, but Ray could have played better, and he gets some blame in this one.

Can't blame the defense much. D-line held up early and got good pressure, Murphy was the best, but no depth caused them to wear down and get run over at the end. Barrenechea was no help. He had no presence in the middle of the field. They kept running crossing routes through there and he was nowhere to be seen....same on run stopping, he was no help. He has to get better....on a positive note, Goss and the Williams' had nice games, Kevin Williams was a nice surprise. Younger....not so much.


DM needs to go.....LeLacheur needs to feel some heat that he is not doing what needs to be done. Maybe I'll go on a hunger strike or something....something needs to be done, this is embarrassing...we have no future with DM at any 3 of his positions.

Yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised with K. Williams...lots of energy, and brings a load when he makes a hit.

Where were you sitting? If you were on the east side, then I hate to say, you take your chances in the opposition jersy.

Usually, Eskimo fans in Taylor Field are welcome IF they dont make an ass of themselves, much like Rider fans are welcome at commonwealth.

BUT Don't sit on the East side, We are kind of rabid over there.

I told you all that I was betting that DM had a HUGE hand in making up the "new offence" but i was told that I was being paranoid. I feel vindicated. Ahhhh. Now I feel like crap as that game made me wish I spent time with my kids instead of watching it.
Same offence...same result.

I beg to differ.

I've sat on the east side twice and been fine, once only about 10 seats away from the 27/28 aisle.

The worst game I've had there was the one time I sat in the middle of the west side, sec 41 IIRC (season ticket holder territory, like section G/T at CW) and was pelted with snowballs during a blowout.

I only ever had problems at TF my first outing... freshly moved and naive I didn't do any research and didn't quite grasp the hate-on for the Esks the Rider fans had, particularly at that time, and got sat near the university section. It wasn't pleasant.

After that I always sat a fair way up the other side, and it was all good.

Sorry, dude, but no way do I ever wear colours at CW. You can't even get on the train wearing black and red or orange and black. I'm not blaming all Esks fans by any means, but every town has them, here too.

This post clearly shows that you don't know me at all. I am a mild-mannered individual. All I did was show up in colours and stand and clap when the Eskimos came out onto the field or had a good play. I did nothing to provoke the fans.

And when he sobers up, he'll admit that Rider fans IN Regina are the worst fans, bar none. He has warned me on many occasions not to mention that I'm an Esks fan, just to avoid getting the attention of any number of drunk dipsticks that sit in the stands / are in the bars / etc.

Some of the stuff that I've seen appalls me...particularly when it's coming from the mouth of a dad with his kids next to him.

The worst treatment I've ever had in Regina involved being pelted with peanuts after they called the 50/50 number and I jumped up with my ticket in my hand. Some casual banter back and forth, but all and all a good experience. Can't say I've ever had a bad experience at commonwealth either. There are some fans of every team that make a point of being an A$$ when they visit oposition parks. Maybe I'm not one of them.

Yes there are some pretty bad people (not fans) at Rider games. Although I'd give the 'worst' award to Winnipeg. They're seriously rabid over there. Even most Rider fans go to Winnipeg once and then never go back.

Sorry to hear of your poor treatment. Its actually nice to see opposition fans at home games, kinda adds to the flavour so I hope you (and others) come back in the future.

Contrary to a previous post, come sit on the west side, and you'll generally be treated better.
