    Is Eiben too small?

Kevin Eiben will be a free agent on Tuesday and could draw some interest from the Esks (I would think). But do you not think he's too small to be a MLB in the CFL? I believe he's somewhere around 6 foot, 215. Gass is listed at 6'3, 205 and I've heard comments about him being too small.

Eiben played in a 3-4 defence last year...so my question is this: is it worth paying him 150K+ and taking a chance that he may be able to handle MLB in a 4-3 D?

I think Eiben is definately suited to a 3-4 defence, where he can fall back into coverage more and not get trapped in the line of scrimmage. But he is definately a solid tackler with great speed. IMO he has the tools to play on any team in this league, I just don't know if he can put up the kinds of numbers he did last season in a different system.
These pretzels are making me thirsty.

I think Eiben works best in a 3-4, he is not fast enough to play OLB in a 4-3, and I think that he is a bit undersized to play the middle. I also think that lining up alongside Mike O'Shea has helped Eiben a fair bit. However his Non-import status maybe makes him worth a look to play MLB, however at the $150 000 he is reportedly looking for I don't think I would want to gamble that he would work in a 4-3 system, and that is way to much to spend on a situational player.

He is the product of his system and is not worth the money IMO.

I'm guessing this is where Angelus has been hearing that Eiben is too small to do a good job.

So you think that he is big enough to be a great MLB in a 4-3 system do you?

Oh, and why don't you post your opinions there in stead of linking to the thread, and hiding over here?

tony "not quite Joe" montana...chill playa. Agreed, Eiben is too small, and is a product of the system. would do VERY well in he T. Dot and Montreal, but would appear useless in other locations. You guys should throw money at Cope. Cope/Tucker/Vaughn/Mitchell would be disgusting. Brock Ralph could be #5 when he comes back.

Oh i am sure we could all go over and post lots of opnions on each others boards if we wanted to try to annoy the hell out each other.

I think most CFL posters on other teams boards are willing to stick up for their team, maybe to a fault, but are more or less objective.

I am sorry, I get sick of seeing links from one site to another. I do not come over here to rattle cages, I also do not make a habit of pointing out what the people on another site are saying. If someone says something that you disagree with or agree with strongly enough to comment on it, do so on that site is all I am saying.
