-The offense was great in the first half, Ray was unstoppable. We were changing it up and the Lions D was getting tired. We needed to run the ball, but didn't.....BC d-line instead wore down our o-line and we only got 7 pts. on the second half. Once again, half time adjustments (or lack thereof) kill us.
-6 turnovers. You can't win with that many turnovers, and a lot of them deep in our zone. I'm not discouraged about our team, we gave up that many turnovers, a big kick return, and were still in to the end.
-The secondary is getting better. Robinson has shown himself to be quite capable of being a starter in this league. People give Buhl a hard time, but he makes plays, has good coverage, and hustles everywhere to make plays. He never gives up and I love that.
-The d-line was in the back field a lot. The defense played really well I thought. 40 pts. looks bad, but they were put in terrible positions alot. Murphy is consistently in the backfield. Romero really blew it though, if he doesn't take that 40 yards worth of penalties in that drive, we could be looking at a different outcome.
-I think they should send that game clock to the Olympics. Boy was it cooking. 3rd down, incomplete pass, turnover on downs, it wasn't stopping for anything. 6 minutes came off the clock in the blink of an eye.
-It was nice to see Ralph have a decent game, but there were still 2 INTs thrown because he didn't go after the ball. I like that he's getting into contact and making plays, but you can't let those passes go right to the defender. The first one wasn't an overthrow, Ralph pulled up and did not extend his arms.
-I don't think the Peterson TD was a catch. However, they've called it like that 2-3 times this season (particularly on a certain Wes Cates play)...and if other teams benefit from it, then we better too.
-Run the ball. That's the be all and end all of this. The turnovers are one thing, but we were still in that game, and our lack of a running game absolutely killed us. Their d-line had our guys on roller skates by the end of the game, and that never should have happened considering how much they were on the field in the first half.
-Ray. He's the master. Probably has areas he can improve, but I really can't logically ask for much than what he's doing for us right now.
-Harris was playing well but never touched the ball enough.
-Where's McCarty? If we're going to throw that much, put our better blocking RB in there more often.
-Tristan: not looking too good as of late. Granted, BC is a tough special teams unit....but someone needs to tell him that he is not the be all and end all of this team. Teams kick away from him and I'm sure he's eager to do something, but first and foremost he needs to do the smart thing. Two plays from him today that really cost us.
In the end, this is a good team. We need to clear some things up, but even with all the turnovers, and no run game.....we had a chance at this one...and it could have very easily been a blow out....for either team mind you. However, we just need to screw our heads on straight and go back out and win some games. This team has some fight in it.
