Yes, depending on what else happens. However, lose Saturday and we finish fourth.

Win the last 2 and we can do no worse than 3rd, however we need either Calgary or BC to lose their remaining 2 games in order for us to have a home play off date. This is why the tie-breaker was SO important to us in the last game vs BC.

Kinda blew that one, didn't we Mike? I'd actually rather finish fourth and try our luck in the east. I really don't think Winnipeg has a very good football team. Montreal, well, that's another story, but playing the eastern final in the Big Owe kind of takes away a lot of their home ice advantage, unless you turn the clock back to 1977 - then they really have home ice advantage.

          Re: Playoffs

It sucks because Calgary & BC are playing each other for the last game of the season...so depending on how we do...we might be leaving our fate up to them.
If I have this right....this week...
Stamps have to lose to Hamilton
We have to beat the Riders
          Argos have to beat BC

          Then next week...
          Argos have to beat Riders
          We beat the Als
          and Stumps lose to BC...

          This would put...
          BC in first?
          Us second
          Calgary 3rd
          and Sask in the Crossover...
but it's been a really long day so I could be WAY off...

Any team can win on any given day, but we've seen how having the Grey Cup in your own barn can be a tough dance to get to. We DID make it in 2002, however nobody's won it in their own stadium since 1994, and only 3 teams have won in their hometown since Toronto did it 1952 (when EVERY Grey Cup was in Toronto it seemed):

            1972 - Hamilton
            1977 - Montreal
            1994 - BC

That puts pressure on Montreal to win the Eastern Final, so they can be beat....

actually, I have no fear of bein on the road,
                  No pressure...
Don't fear playin in bc nor Calgary and if we cross over think were better than Winnipeg and Montreal

Don't know if it is to early to say but I honestly think we have a legitimate shot at the cup!

Nice clip - my sentiments exactly...
Right now Calgary & BC are pretty tough to beat (especially with the number of times we turn over the ball). I hate to say it but I think we have a slightly better chance through the East, but I sure hope our players aren't thinking the same way...because it will be another couple weeks of screaming at the TV!!

i`m more worried we would actually fail at home....

home field isn`t all its cut out to be these days! but i want the home game, on the grass in nov we should be unbeatable..
seems we will know come sat night where were goin to be! east or west, thats one down..

                          Re: Playoffs

The chances of the Esks finishing in first or second are pretty remote. I can't see both BC and Calgary losing on the same weekend to Toronto and Hamilton.

We have a big enough challenge going into Saskatchewan and beating them at home.

The frustrating thing is that we we have a hard enough time not beating ourselves.

here's an idea, how bout you guys tank the game in Regina this weekend so you go through an easier east, we'll beat Toronto then the next week and finish second, kick BC in the balls for you in Regina in WSF, do the same to CGY in WF, you guys come out of the east and everyone's happy in the GC.

Seriously though, its interesting how you have a good feeling you can get to the cup. Same here in Regina. Right now, pretty much anyone can beat anyone on any given day (except Ham and TO). Which makes this playoff run very very interesting.
