I was wondering about that myself, since they sold their old field turf to BC Place.....

I could've sworn that they didn't play on AstroTurf for the 06 EF when I was there...

No, wait, they did.

One might've thought that the GC organizing committee could spring for a new rug .

Well, at least we've had success on the stuff...our last game on turf was at the Big Owe in 06, when Goldie went nuts and we won 30-20 (also beat SSK 30-25 in 06 in their last season with the crap). Also won our last two playoff games on it, too (05 WSF @ CGY, 03 GC @ SSK).

Check that...it didn't look quite as bad as AstroTurf. More like first-generation iffy FieldTurf, really. Still, not as good as the current stuff.
