    Event Suggestions for 2010 GC

I'd like to see something similar to what Montreal did in the heart of downtown by having a heated covered caberet with live bands and beer gardens etc. Could take over churchill square for this as it's close to the majority of downtown hotels.

    Others?
I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

Spend $3 Million having Iron Maiden play the 2 hour long halftime show?

Just put a tent over Clark Field and have a heated Cabaret there. Its close enough for the Pancake breakfast etc. I think that would work out well.
Run the Ball up the gut around the horn it does not matter. We run we win what is so difficult to understand.

According to the Girlfriend they should get Pink :-P for entertainment but I think Metallica would be a better show.

Teams would be using that for practices.

That would definitely be a step up fom the basement of the old Bay Building that they used in 2002.

                I like it!
Maybe that should be the Spirit of Edmonton room...

Like the idea, but as Diez points out it's needed for practices. There is another field there (at least there used to be!) which would be great for a pre-GC Tail-Gate party.

"As usual, festivities will focus on downtown celebrations, but the Eskimos hope that their planned north-central based fieldhouse, slated for construction just west of Commonwealth, will be complete by then. Final plans for the $40-million facility are expected to be released in a few weeks. "

Wow! I'd like to see what that $40 million practice facility will look like. That's pretty pricey for what would seem like a relatively small project.

You underestimate the power of the Empire! With this facility players will be falling over themselves to play in Edmonton! BWAHAHAHAHAH!

We have that retarded cement Churchill Square... So I agree, cover and heat it for parties all week.

They converted a downtown square just east of the Sheraton and Fairmont into a mini grey cup village. We checked it out twice. Good bands, food served etc. Place was always busy.

I agree with Diesel I too enjoyed Grey Cup village that Montreal had. It was in the centre of the all the action. Toronto tried to do something similar with family activities but it was right by Rogers Centre and I found it not be centralized to where the majority of the GC activities were taking place.

Will you guys really be up to partying when it's Calgary vs Montreal again???

Kick off is around 4pm so I would hope all of the attractions and tents would be close to the stadium so that you could go down early and get the party started.

The only real giggle is a Calgarian planning on winning........well.......anything twice in a row.
