    Favour for a brother

    This is entirely my idea. I cleared it with Numberz before posting this. He reluctantly relented after I threatened to disclose his bedwetting as a 12-year-old (oops), but it’s my request, not his. He says he doesn’t want to ask anyone for anything, so I’m asking.

    Numberz is coming to Edmonton for the Eskimos’ training camp. I knew he was going to motel it, but he’s a poor student so I offered him a place to stay. It took some convincing (he politely declined at first), but he’s agreed to stay with me and the missus. I just need to keep my daughter away from him and we’ll be good. Anyway, we have to be away starting June 10 so while we can put him up until then, I’m wondering if someone here would accept a handoff from June 10 until he leaves, likely June 12 or 13.

    If you’re interested in helping out a financially disadvantaged brother, send a PM to Numberz. He says he’ll be away most of the time and needs a bed and not much else. He considerately says he doesn’t want to put anyone out, but I’m willing to feed him (Numberz, can you cook?). As long as he doesn’t want to talk about the NFL, we’ll be good.

    I understand he’s house broken.

    I've got a spare bed if he's willing to commute from Grande Prairie...

      Great idea and well done!! I'd love to be able to help out but this commute would be even worse for him!

      I'm certain one of our brethren will step up!
      Turf Toe:

      - "A mild instance of turf toe (grade 1) can be merely aggravating while a serious case (grade 3) can be debilitating."

        I've got tons of room and am not too far from an LRT station if we can't drive him anywhere, but I'd have to check with Mr.Spec first.

          I could offer my couch if all he needs is literally a place to sleep. But I do get up at 5:30am every weekday morning for school, so he might find that a little disruptive if all he's doing is going to an Esks game.

          But if a better situation doesn't come along, I could offer my couch to him.

          I do live close to good bus access to downtown, Whyte Ave., and OK access to the Univ. LRT and WEM, though.

            Has anyone even confirmed if it's going to be "open" Training Camp this year? For some reason I've got it in my head that Coach wanted to keep it a surprise this year. Maybe I'm just drunk again though. It is almost noon after all...

                    I'm driving down, and this is a rare holiday for me so I anticipate being out and doing lots of stuff, so all I really need is a place to sleep. However, I'm likely just going to get a hotel at this point. I should be able to muster up enough cash for a few nights in a hotel, I just couldn't afford a full week+, but MG was kind enough to help fix that. I'd be lieing though if I said not paying for a hotel wouldn't help. I don't want to stay with a random nobody though, I know I haven't met much of anyone, but I'd feel better crashing at someone's house who is a regular here.

                    PS, I don't know much about what I'll be doing during the evenings, but I want to actually do stuff since holidays for me don't come around too often, so if anyboyd has any suggestions for stuff I can do, let me know.

                      If you want to go cheap there is a hostel just off Whyte Ave., it is run by Hostelling International so it should be pretty good, I have never stayed there but almost every Hostelling International hostel I have stayed at is clean and safe.

                        I have stayed there - 81st Ave @ 106 St w free parking. Pretty standard fare for hostels I've stayed in in N. America and Europe...felt about average.

                            If you like, 'Berz, we could do a ride on the Gold Wing and visit West Ed Mall. You asked for ideas of things to do. So far 'Berz has not had a confirmed offer for the rest of his stay so is booking a hotel for the rest of the time here. Anyone want to step up?
