Biggest Personnel Weakness on Paper Heading into TC

I'd have to say at defensive tackle. With only Romero, Braidwood, and Taylor listed at DT on the Esks roster, it seems like we are a bit thin and won't see much of a battle for the starting or depth spots at training camp(unless there are some signings in the next few weeks). Romero is solid, but Braidwood is a bit of a question mark considering his injury and his commitment to football.
    What does everyone else think?

Defensive line and, particularly defensive tackle - we're really thin at DT.
If Romero goes down, we're in a lot of trouble.

Also, the defensive secondary is still a question mark for me.

I just quickly counted the number of d-linemen on each team's roster. We have the smallest # in the league at only 10(including Peach). Hopefully we see a few more signed before TC if we have the roster space(If the Riders do I'm sure we do as well!).

      D-linemen on roster
      BC - 12
      Calgary - 17
      Sask - 13
      Edm- 10
      Winnipeg- 12
      Hamilton- 11
      Montreal - 14
      Toronto- 13

I'd like to have another big guy in the middle of the d-line rotation, but I'm not that concerned about it. We have a lot of versatile guys in our front seven. My bigger concern in having experience at LB. We appear to have some good talent, but it would be nice to have that vet presence we had with Garrett. We might get that with Malveaux, but he may also just play in the secondary.

Don't forget about Jim Davis. He might be listed at DE, but in my opinion, he was much better at DT. He could get a look at starting DT.

What happened to Anoai? God, I know that's the wrong spelling.. but I don't see him anywhere on the roster.

My biggest concern is DB. Who starts at both corner spots? How's the secondary going to shake out?

Good call on Jim Davis. And I think you likely see the Esks using a 3-4 a lot with the personnel we have. As for A'noai He was cut before the end of last season I believe? Or right after the end of the year. And I don't have much worry for our secondary. Brad Robinson has the inside shot on one corner and I think Mr. Buhl will prove a lot of people wrong about him this upcoming year.

I think Anoai was cut IIRC. I am not worried about the d-line as there are always cuts and pickups before the season starts.

Biggest unknown is at the outside linebacker spots
I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

The defensive backfield I am uncertain of. I hope with the new DB's that something will work out.

if you listen to the interview with the roughriders' play by play guy on 630ched the day Jones was traded to the esks, it says he arrived in Regina weighing 217 pounds. this says to me he canNOT play DE and will play mostly as an outside linebacker. with him and Malveux there I think the OLB spots on both sides will be well taken care of.
To me that leaves the Dl to be Ellis and Braidwood on the outside, Taylor and Romero on the inside. Murphy can play either and to me would be the backup, with Peach on the PR or possibly on the active roster playing special teams.

I still think they need a stud receiver and a depth guy for the DL

They have a ton of DB;s. Assuming Malveaux plays WIL, that leaves goss, Malborough, Lenny Williams, and Glasper as possible starters (4 vets) with Robinson and Buhl fighting it out for the nickel back vs the pr spot.

Again, to me it is the receiver who will get double teamed that we need. Yes Stamps played well when campbell got the double coverage, but how will him and Mann play when all the double teams go to them??

Murphy was cut and signed by Winnipeg, so unless the Bombers are going to lend him to us, he won't be the back-up.

Also, Peach is yet to be officially signed.

They don't think very highly of Malveux on the Winnipeg boards or Gordon on the Sask boards. This make me kind of nervous with those guys in there.
