Pretty tough to not like the message that he's going with.
I don't know, this part scared the crap out of me...
Coach Hall reminds me of Marcel Bellefeuille
*shudder*
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

Hall is MUCH better at his specialty (defense) than Marcel has ever been at his "specialty". In fact it is your previous head coach who most reminds me of MB. A "offensive mind" with no mind for offense.
I always like to see Schultz's columns...one of the best CFL writers out there. Agree a lot with what he's saying.
Not to say WPG is going to be a pushover or anything, but if we can use the opener to cohere a bunch as a team and run up a fairly solid win, then I think things will get easier as we go through.
The rest of July is a tough stretch - if we can get out of that playing fairly well and snag a couple of wins, then I think we ought to be able to run through the rest of the year at a decent pace.

Nice use of an under-used word!
My favourite line...
Could you imagine if the Eskimos beat the Stampeders to play in the 97th Grey Cup in Calgary? I can!
Turf Toe:
- "...turf toe is a common malady that is more of a nuisance than a serious injury."
- "Turf toe can often progress into a chronic problem..."
- "A mild instance of turf toe (grade 1) can be merely aggravating while a serious case (grade 3) can be debilitating."
Shultz consistently delivers some of the best CFL related articles going. This is no exception, and I too enjoy the optimism he seems to have for the Esks this season.
Sportsbook at Caesar's has us down as 5 to 1 on a futures bet......haven't checked Bowman's odds in a while, but the changes we've made this off-season have not gone unnoticed.
Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

I think I'll put 20K on the Esks to win the Grey Cup.
Personally, I think Schultz is a brutal analyst. And my comments are not based on this article, just my opinion of him in general.
I see you changed your post from:

Perhaps you realized that what you were saying did not make sense.....?
Regardless....I know you're just trying to make fun, but as far as I know in CFL history there has never been another "last place finisher" in their division with a 10 win season. So that distinction really doesn't mean much when others try and talk smack. We had two years in the toilet, and have bounced back. Afterall, we were still playing in the division finals while you guys got your home playoff game to get whupped by the Leos.
That said; this year is a whole new deal, and while it is premature to boast on who may or may not do what....I feel our team is definitely on the upslope while the Riders and Leos are on the way down. In a nutshell, I like our chances.....and we'll see who winds up in the basement this year.
It's also funny to me that there used to be a lot of talk from jack-mouthed fans around the league that speculated that Eskimos fans wouldn't show up if our team hit the skids. I suppose it was a way for them to try and make excuses for their own fans only bringing in minute numbers when their teams were bad.....of course even through these last 3 years Eskimo fans still lead the league in attendance. The correlation between support and the teams play has not wavered near the degree as it has in some of the other places where they like to brag up supporting their team through thick and thin.
....but I digress, whatever your opinion of Shultz (because he never picks the Riders as winners, and then when he does you lose), he continues to be perhaps in most fans eyes one of the most informed and even keeled analysts in our game. Certainly not because of this article, but for a real decent body of work. I haven't agreed with everything he has put out, but his consistancy at putting out fair and honest opinions is arguably unmatched.
