Re: Golf with Jim Germany for charity
I'm not sure what Germany's doing these days. He was interviewed on the TEAM Wednesday morning but I missed it. I know that he lives in New Mexico and that the golf tournament on Monday will be the first time he's been back in Edmonton since the end of his time as an Eskimo.Originally posted by moontoscott View PostWhat does Germany do these days?
Does he live in the Edmonton area?

Re: Golf with Jim Germany for charity
I certainly hope this is a harbinger of things being settled between the Eskimos organization and old #25. A spot on the wall would be welcomed by pretty much all the fans, as Germany definitely deserves it (we'll save the rant on adding Hollimon and Estay from the Dynasty gang for another time
)

Re: Golf with Jim Germany for charity
Germany was going to go back after the tourney. Then he heard there was a game on Thursday.
He said on the CFRN news interview that he was looking for a ticket. He want to catch the game.
I hope the Esks helped him out.
So Thursday, Germany may be in the house for the first time in over 25 years.

The fact that Don Getty has a name plate on the wall of fame and Germany doesn't makes me barf.Originally posted by Uncle Bobby View PostGermany was going to go back after the tourney. Then he heard there was a game on Thursday.

Re: Golf with Jim Germany for charity
I sure as hell hope that he got more than just some $20 ticket to see the game from the EEFC. He should be brought down to the track and introduced to the crowd, so that he can be acknowledged by the crowd for what he did for the team and its fans!Originally posted by Uncle Bobby View PostGermany was going to go back after the tourney. Re: Golf with Jim Germany for charity
I believe Germany watched the game from the Jackie Parker room, and was taken care of by the Esks. I emailed TSN about Germany being there, but unfortunately he was not interviewed on camera.. a shame, really!Originally posted by Uncle Bobby View PostThere was nothing on the broadcast about this. I assume nothing annouced at CW?
So did the Esks not help Germ out?
Did he decide to go home, even though he expressed excitement in attending?
Maybe time has not healed old wounds. If so, boo EEFC.

Beats me; I wasn't there!Originally posted by Uncle Bobby View PostWell that is good to hear. Good on the Esks.
But why not bring him out for the crowd? Or did they?
Any good stories, GreatWhiteNorth...?

Saw him walk by on the west side track during the game...but there was no public mention of him being there.Originally posted by 56Parkies View PostI believe Germany watched the game from the Jackie Parker room, and was taken care of by the Esks. That is a shame. I'm betting the crowd would have given him a great ovation.Originally posted by Tojo View PostSaw him walk by on the west side track during the game...but there was no public mention of him being there.
He certainly deserves at least that.#PizStrong
