Re: We were worse than Winnipeg
Well..... beyond the QB I would not be able to really aregue with you! At least they TRY to place aggressive on both sides of the ball!!!! We simply DO NOT play EMOTIONAL or ENTHUSIASTIC fottball anymore. Stopped the day you know who gutted our vets and brought in the dink n' dunk show.
No reason for Maas not to have played that last quarter and mix things up..... I fear our new coaches stubborness reminds me of our old coaches stubborness... and we all know how that turned out don't we!!!undefined

Re: We were worse than Winnipeg
I cannot beleive I am not seeing this anywhere.. This of course goes out to the overall bad job of the team. The coaching staff needs to take ALOT of the blame here. Our defense is struggling beyond belief. Can we not see the only reason we are winning games is when our offensive kicks ass? letting in 32 points is unacceptable...a loss or not. Something has to be done and releasing buhl is only about 5% of the problems im seeing here. The entire eskimos defense is not acting as a team and the coaching staff is doing NOTHING about it! its so frustrating to see this crap! ANY team knows to throw deep on edmonton...we cant stop it. Just watch any game this season.

Re: We were worse than Winnipeg
So are the other teams you are tied with in the standings. There is a reason no one is out leading the pack. You have 3, probably 4, teams in the west that are inconsistent.Originally posted by Oiler View PostToronto and Winnipeg are the worst teams at the moment. Esks are very inconsistent but at least they have more wins.

Re: We were worse than Winnipeg
That's a pretty blanket statement. All 3 teams have their good and bad parts to them - but to out and out say that Sask. and Calgary are better than Edmonton? Give me a break. Even the TSN panel today finally gave some props to the Esks receivers (not that they had their finest hour on LD) rather than talking so much about the Stamps' receivers, which should speak volumes on that portion of the team alone.Originally posted by Oiler View PostSask, Calgary are better than Edmonton.
Either you are really missing something or you are a Rider or Stamps fan troll masquerading as an Esks fan. If it is the latter than I will only say happy banning.....

If you see the number of posts I made I am an Edmonton fan but I like to see things realistically. The o-line and d-line did not get the job done period. They are capable of it but Calgary has a running QB which adds a dimension that we don't have. Also they have a better more powerful RB. Thi is why they are a bit better rated than Esks.Originally posted by Rayminator View PostThat's a pretty blanket statement. Sask for some reason has a very strong defensive core that puts a lot of pressure on the QB's They have John Chick as a dominant rusher but Edmonton doesn't have anyone to match. Their secondary is more of a good veteran group than us too. Our QB is better than theirs and the offence is good or better than anyone at receiving. That's how I see it.
All the West teams are inconsistent so let's hope we can get payback 180 on Friday.Last edited by Oiler; 09-08-2009, 10:16 AM.If we were put on this earth to help others, what were the others put on earth for?

Re: We were worse than Winnipeg
Exactly my point. The Stumps and Riders have some areas that are superior to ours, and in some cases we have guys who are superior to theirs.Originally posted by Oiler View PostIf you see the number of posts I made I am an Edmonton fan but I like to see things realistically. Thus it is inaccurate and wrong to outright say the Riders and Stamps are better teams period - which is what you said in the initial post.

If you somehow think that in their respective Labor Day games, that the Esks were better than the Bombers, I'd be glad to hear it.
I am not saying we ARE worse....I said we WERE worse...

At this point the Riders and Stamps look better, but all teams are inconsistent or maybe there is more parity. It is frustrating to see inconsistency in the Esks though as they have shown the ability to beat good teams.Originally posted by Rayminator View PostExactly my point. Re: We were worse than Winnipeg
Just throw this game out the window. Most teams have had a stinker or two so far where nothing goes right but with the parity in the league being what it is, that's going to happen to everybody eventually. I'm looking for a different and more effective Eskimo team in the rematch.Does anyone know where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours....
