    Re: Post Game Thoughts(vs. Win)

I was not impressed with the D after they allowed whathishole the KR for the Bombers to openly mock them after Pre's missed FG by running from 1 end zone to the other for a TD. Not impressed at all.

I think Ray needs to sit against BC and Maas should start. Not so much because Ray is playing badly, although he does have his faults. Just so he can get a different look at the offence. Sit in the booth with Strasser, maybe, I don't know.

But I'm getting awfully tired of this team losing the game once the 2nd half buzzer sounds. I stopped actively watching the game after the 3rd quarter, I was so disgusted.

On the bright side, at least the receivers stopped the dropsies, and for the 1st time in years the talents of Mathieu Bertrand weren't being wasted by sticking him only with blocking assignments - he was actually involved in the offence. Now they need to do that more and we'd have even more wrinkles to put out against the opposition.

Jeesh... it just sunk in we got thumped by Mike Kelly and Michael Bishop

        *sigh*

And it just got that much more depressing
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

earlier in the season when the esks were winning the close games, they would win in two of the three parts, mostly it was offence and special teams winning with defence losing. tonight and last week to Sask we lost offfence and ST and won defence. Have you all noticed since McCarty's injury that was when the offence really seemed to fall apart? They make a few big plays but can;t put drives together. With CMC in they have much better options for second and short and of course second and long.

Strasser's offence has already become predictable. They do what defences have done for years against the esks, put 8 guys in coverage on 4-5 receivers. The reason Calgary and MOntreal can beat it is because their runnign backs are physically imposing and are able to make 5 yards when the defence is in zone coverage. Whitlock is too small and too inconsistent to give us the first down yards we need so we will just face this zone all season. The scary thing is, BC can go into zone and still get fantastic pressure from their front 4, and we play them two more times.

The only positive I have from the last week is that the secondary is actually substantially better with Parker and Drew in, along with Gordon. Hopefully when Hunt gets in shape our LB's will be better too. If ET gets back soon the run defence will be better, it will just be the pass rush to worry about.

When CMC gets back the offence will be much more able to sustain drives and hopefully be more consistent. In order for this team to make the playoffs and go for a run, it is clear to me they still need another playmaker on offence and a better pass rush. Not sure if Campbell is coming back but if not maybe give Hill a chance over Rector. Mann has had a couple of bad games but him and Stamps are always in double coverage now. Rector is more open but does not seem to be that much of a playmaker to me.

just to add.. our d for all the tongue lashin and weakness.. it has taken has done enough to win 3 of the last 4 games.. were awesome tonight, for the most part and we still lose 4 outta 5.. it all falls on our offence..
              17 points is not enough..

parker looks great.. this d could only get better with a few more games..

it seems the Bombers have finally found their identity on O. They make the Lbs play a guessing game as to where the ball is with all the under center play action. Seem to be playing better than their record.

The Esks O was smothered by a D that would only send 4 sometimes 3, that would let a pretty good secondary play agressive in coverage. have to take your medicine and run at it a bit more.

Hey, we (Calgary) lost twice to Winnipeg this season. It happens.
Men, we got them right where we want them.

                        Re: Post Game Thoughts(vs. Win)

We have Frank Dreban from police squad as a D coordinator, with that glazed and confused look.

The O-line gets collapsed onto the QB so often. I didn't see a whole lot of that in the BC/Sask game. Their o-lines give the QB room to step into the throw.

What happened to the Strasser aggresive offence.Saw it for 30 minutes. Can RR not handle an up tempo quick release offense???

Haven't seen 400 yds from the Esks offense , which KP said they should put on every team???

Same vanilla offense again as we have seen for a couple of years. Need 8 yds pass for 6. Hitch screen left. Hitch screen right. punt. rinse and repeat. Whats on the other pages of this big binder. Here's a good play QB holds onto ball too long because receivers can't find the holes because we are standing still at the line and not hitting the line at full speed like other teams do and the QB dumps it to the running back for 4 yds. Let's run that one again.

I thought Strasser was going to get the receivers to attack the line at speed and put the defenders at a disadvantage??? No we like to miss time the snap and stop and make the DB's job easier.

Rod Black is horrible!!!! He has no clue about football and I believe he just makes crap up and which to football fans know it's not true. He must be fooling someone down at TSN head office because he is brutal.

I said before the game if Bishop is on his game they would win and I was right. The Esks are way too inconsistent to breed any confidence in the fans. The injuries just added to it.
If we were put on this earth to help others, what were the others put on earth for?

I'd just like to add that if you take away the 7 pts. on the missed FG return, the FG that we spotted them on Tristan's fumble, and the 2 safeties...

...our defense gave up 13 pts.

...and yet I hear a lot of people say we let Bishop and the woeful Bomber offense beat us. We threw the ball 50 times for 231 yards....that's less than 5 yards per attempt. That's the game right there. This one isn't on the defense.

The positive I get out of this game is that I now have 3 more hours per week to do something else instead of watching this sorry lot of losers. I can read about the disasters the next morning on here. If Richie Hall ever wants to be a good head coach now is the time to step it up and do something. Can you imagine Wally Buono or John Hufnagel putting up with this kind of play? I certainly can't. There would be changes aplenty.
