Mo's got his game face on early!

    http://www.edmontonjournal.com/sport...297/story.html

"I don't give a rat's (behind) about Calgary," steamed Lloyd. "I can't stand them, I don't like them and, in as many words, (screw) them."

Yikes. Feed him some raw meat and let him go.

I agree, Opus. Don't give them any ammo. But this looks more like material to fire his own team up instead of the Thamps. In fact, I think he is calling himself out.

I am more concerned with our receivers and the flu bug hitting the team.

I certainly agree with the sentiment...

He has said stuff like this earlier this season. I like the intensity, now it's time to back it up.

this is the part of what he said that was the most meaningful...

Lloyd and his other outspoken 'mates would be wise to shut up and say nothing. Let the Stamps keep looking toward Regina the following Sunday and stop reminding them that the Esks are coming to town this Sunday.

Good for him, and I dispute his words were the first in the war of words. Calgary has already been talking about playing Saskatchewan.

I generally get an automatic hate on for guys when they leave The Riders... but I can't help but still like Mo Lloyd. He's a guy I'd welcome back next year if that's how things played out. (Maybe not at what The Esks are paying him but still... )

I would've normally been a little less pleased about doing the talking in the media, but as pointed out by Turftoe, there is a big difference in Mo's M.O. compared to, oh let's say Burris.

Burris talks about, Hey I wasn't playing that game and things would've been different. Mo talks about the games he was in and is drawing motivation from those.

Also influencing me was reading some of KP's stuff on celebrations and the "you gotta be you" philosophy. Mo has stayed pretty authentic to himself. We knew what we were getting when we signed him and I'd rather he be that person and that player than trying to change overnight and be something that he's not.

This is football not a backgammon tournament.....if trash talking gets them in game form then let it rip!

Interesting that it was the Riders who moaned and bitched for a salary cap, and since a cap was put in place for them, they only years they've won they broke the salary cap rules.

That's a beauty quote by Freddy....
"This year, we did what we were supposed to do. We fought as a team. We fought as a team. And the fact is, we gotta go back and go to work, to make sure we finish this next time. That's all we gotta do. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team. Let's understand this right here makes us stronger." - Ray Lewis, January, 2012.
