No big surprises out of that list. I guess I would have given Anderson the nod out of Calgary over Browner...

The only one that I can see that was missed was Baggs from the Riders (pains to give credit to the Riders in any way). He should have won it.

Considering the guy leading the league in sacks wasn't even on the West team I'm not surprised Stewart would beat out Baggs.

Not that it really matters because when you allow fan votes to partially determine who the all-stars are....it's a crock of **** anyways.

Gone are days when Esks players would dominate the all-star teams.....

I think that this selection is a reasonably unbiased look at the talent level on the football club (of course, no voting process is completely fair).

We had 3 Western division all-stars and one All-Canadian. Despite what some others have said on these threads this is a testament to just how much work remains in terms of recruiting and developing all-star players.

To those people on the BOG who are still crowing about DM and the "steady as she goes course" I say that you should take note of this ballotting (just ignore all those doomsayers) and you might want to use it as a measuring stick for the next few years to see just how far DM and company have progressed.

I wonder, if for the next 3 years (which is what I would guess the BOG is willing to grant our grand-master of player personnel) we only have one All-Canadian, would that be enough to warrant a change at the end of that period? We'll see. I mean, at what point do these people stop describing Eskimo fans as whiners and ingrates and start looking at what other sources say?

The more all-stars that you have is a direct reflection of the over-all ability and strength of the team. How many all-CFL all-stars did we have last season?

With players like Parker, Hill and Drew joining the team at various points in the season it took them a bit to get up to speed. That would put them out of the running for this year simply due to less prominent stats - thats really what voters look at anyways. I'm pretty sure all of them have been all-star candidates in the past and will be again.

A lot less than when the Esks were the flag-ship franchise of the CFL.
