    Impressive Season Ticket Numbers

    Already the Eskimos have over 25,000 season ticket holders for this season, “more than we’ve had going back to the ’80s,” LeLacheur said of the five-in-a-row Grey Cup days of Warren Moon & Co.

    Wow, pretty impressive stuff, Edmonton. Most season ticket holders since the Warren Moon dynasty. Great to see main stream Eskimo fans putting their money where their mouth is, and voting with their wallets. Show the rest of the country how it's done, and who truly has the greatest football fans!

    Add to this incredible season ticket base, a fan friendly schedule with no Thursday games, and an exciting team to bring out the casual fans, and the attendance in Edmonton is going to be quite the economic boost for the team. Way to go!

    Nice to see these numbers, but I wonder how many they would have if we were not hosting the GC this year??

      Agreed the big test will be next year, and how many of those people renew.

          You guys are right, Grey Cup obviously pushed the numbers up. 2011 will be the test, especially after what this team does in this critical year.

            No doubt. Hopefully, a large percentage of the new season ticket holders renew in 2011. But for this year, anyways, it's looking promising to pad the ol' stabilization fund with some wheelbarrows of cash.

              I wonder why the Eskimo policy of not releasing season ticket numbers suddenly changed? Does that mean that we are going to know these numbers more often? I would hope so...

                Agreed. This is a critical year. If the Eskimos show well (even if they don't get to the GC but have a very good year) it bodes well for the near future.

                      And it gets you a ton of season ticket holders. Who woulda thunk it?

                      I honestly feel that more people got season's because of weekend games and NOT because of the Grey Cup. Ordinarily, you can get G.C. tickets pretty easily... With a stadium the capacity of CW, I would bet that no one thought "I better get season tickets because if I don't I won't be able to get G.C. tickets"

                        I don't know one way or the other, but certainly both contribute. I am happy to see it too, I don't know why the Eskimos bent over and took that for the last few years, when it was obvious it was hurting them at the gate.

                          Biggest reason I got another season seat this year is it's the first year it was available...and I wanted to make sure my incoming spawn has a great seat with his mom & dad...he's a few years from needing his own spot, but I've been trying for five years to get that seat as well as my other two...it was just a coincidence that the GC and the weekend games were this year too. (But I'm not complaining about either of those either)

                            I did the same, I added a third a seat last year. And thanks to DDS, we were able to move up one row this year and all sit together.
