I sent two seperate questions to the Jason Gregor show today. I understand that he plans on having Tillman on his show...and I'm hoping he'll get to talk to Lalecheur as well.
I think regardless of your stance on this hiring, both "sides" would probably be interested in the response.
QUESTION ONE
Good day Jason.
Firstly, let me be upfront on the Tillman hiring. I am strongly opposed to it. Having said that, I hope you can ask Mr. Tillman a question that has bugged me for MONTHS, and no one seems to have picked up on it.
On February 3, 2009, Mr. Tillman calls a press conference to discuss the charges laid against him, where he is quoted as saying:
"I'll simply say that I've told the truth, the process will unfold and I'll ask you to judge it as it goes forward and as the facts and the truth are told. ... The people here are good people, they value their good name as I value mine, and I look forward to the truth being told."

Then, a scant 11 months later, the guilty plea is entered by Mr. Tillman's lawyer, Mr. Aaron Fox. According to Mr. Fox, Tillman was under the influence of two different medications at the time and said that Tillman has no memory of returning home that day nor any recollection of the assault.

You will have to forgive for being skeptical, but these two statements are directly and completely contradictory from my point of view! Is it any wonder a good number of Esks fans are upset over this hiring?
Then, to add insult to injury, you need to consider the Rider's "Code of Conduct" that was implemented under Mr. Tillman's watch.
For goodness sakes, in 2007 Mr. Tillman himself released Hakim Hill one week after he was signed by the team simply due to the fact that Hill was merely arrested - he wasn't even yet CHARGED WITH A CRIME!

But, I guess what's good for the goose ISN'T good for the gander as far as Mr. Tillman is concerned because during his whole ordeal, Eric Tillman was on paid suspended leave.
In any event, I hope you can ask Mr. Tillman to comment on these items, if you get a chance to interview him this afternoon.
QUESTION TWO
Hello Jason,
If you get an opportunity to interview Mr. Lalacheur regarding the hiring of Eric Tillman, I would be interested in his position to the following.
Let's assume for a moment that Tillman is the most qualified football person out there for the GM position. Now, I know that some will and won't agree with this statement, but assume it to be true.
However, I have to think that the hiring process has to be examined from the business side of the operation. Given that the hiring of Eric Tillman has generated very strong feelings, both for and particularly against, what did you or the Board consider might be the possible negative impact to the business operations in hiring such a controversial figure like Eric Tillman?
