Hmm, Can't rememeber how far back the draft as it is goes back there was a time when teams were able to get regional protected players I think.
Towns was a great NI. Dave Fennel, Bill Stevenson. Leroy Blugh stands out as a terrific pick. Looking at the list was depresseing however. Why Mackinnon is still with the esks and was not purged is beyond me.
Corbin Sharun has provided great value for a 6th round pick. Calvin McCarty is also great value for a 4th round pick.
Amarpreet Sanghera didn't pan out well as a first round pick in 2004. Emmanuel Casseus the first rounder in 2003 wasn't so hot. Dounia Whitehouse the third rounder in 2003 fits that bill too.

The right of a Club to exempt two territorial players from the draft was terminated after the 1984 season.
Fennell & Stevenson were both Territorial Exemptions in the same draft year. We also selected Stu Lang that year (1974) in the 6th round!
We had some good draft picks in the 80s -- Dan Kearns in 1980, Chris Skinner/John Mandarich in '84, Tom Richards in '85, Michael Soles and Leroy Blugh in '89, but I have to say my vote for best all-time Eskimo we drafted is a tie between Rod Connop in '82 and Blake Marshall in '87.
