He was not good enough to keep on our list so Taman replaced him with a better quality player. Afterall Taman is a much better GM then ET.

I'm not going to pass judgment until I see the kid play, whether he is a good prospect or not.

The thing that gets me is that a few days back we heard some hand puppet crowing about there not being any "GM specific" guys, just the "next" guys. I understand Sonic filling our neg list with as many of his old list as he could (I'm sure he trusts his own instincts more than someone else), but IMO this is just one more confirmed case of specifically bringing in one of "his" guys.

Colour me naive I guess, but I'd like to think that the guys that Hervey and Jones are scouting and recommending are getting fair consideration.

I'm not going to play that game, but you're right in that Taman probably plays the same game.

Again, it confirms that politics and egos are massive players in the game. Despite what others may have tried to sell in the past.

Seems how a neg list is a list of players that a gm would like to sign it makes total sense that if a player that he had put on his neg list on a different team that he would try to get him on his neg list on the new team.

What if Tillman had the next Jason Tucker on the Riders neg list before? Should he not make an effort to get him on the Esks neg list?? Trying to reach like this about a player that never signed wth the Riders is the type of thing that takes away from your creditablity when you actually make a good points.

I understand what you're saying.. however, just how many players have we signed once the schedule opened that aren't former Riders in some shape or form.. more importantly, how many have panned out and why is it we seem to not consider other talent out there (eg. PK Sam?). I'm not here to "bash ET".... hell I met the guy at fan day and talked with him for almost an hour....... but you gotta pick the best players by looking at ALL your options..... not just a select few.

Fair enough. Totally agree with that view. In the end though if he feels like the best players available for a given need at a time are ex riders then I guess that's what it is

To me, Neg List signings (even with a different team) are MUCH better than old team's castoffs.
