    Messam in the dog house...

    http://www.edmontonsun.com/2011/08/3...ltering-messam

EDMONTON - Move over Patrick Kabongo. There’s somebody else checking into the Edmonton Eskimos’ doghouse with you.

Jerome Messam, the running back who won two Gibson’s Finest Canadian Player of the Week awards, ripping off 335 yards in the first third of the season and very much looking like he was progressing forward to a future of being a 100-yard-per-game ball carrier with a Canadian passport, has regressed.

Tough to fault a guy's yardage when he's not getting the ball...and I can't say that I directly recall him blowing coverage on a blitz...but I haven't really been paying attention.

Time for Porter to shine, and stay as the #1 feature back.

I saw him skip out on a block that got Ray steam rolled. I thought to myself it wasn't bad karma for Ray giving Messam 4 or 5 suicide passes the past few weeks.

Messam isn't the only one to blame...........there have been copious amounts of missed assignments be everyone.
I thinks its unfair to single out one individual for the teams pizz poor performance the last 3 games.
Win as a team, lose as a team.

Poor Piz gets blamed for everything.

I agree Messam is generally a very good blocker. In the Toronto game he took on Kawale with a block and pancaked him well. He may be a little lazy occasionally but Rodriguez in the last game has more of a case to be in the doghouse.
Run the Ball up the gut around the horn it does not matter. We run we win what is so difficult to understand.

There's a good spot that'll be available Tuesday at McMahon Stadium for it.

As long as he isn't in the big-house it can't be too bad.
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

I found Messam slowing down. He wasn't as quick on the acceleration as he was before or maybe he is not quick to begin with. In any case the Esks really need an explosive feature back and if Porter can't do it, then it's time to bring another import in. I don't consider MCarty a feature back BTW.
If we were put on this earth to help others, what were the others put on earth for?

don`t think messam IS a feature back.. we should use all 3 like we did earlier in the year.. seems we are leaning on him, mabe to much.. let porter and cmc get involved

Porter should be the feature guy, all the time. Give the guy the rock and let him pound it, down after down. I do not feel that JM or CMC are features at all.

Part of me agrees with that... yet come October/November I still want a big bruiser securing the rock and going north/south on people!

Same observations in Montreal, he was definitely not engaged in blocking, weakest part of his game imho, he looked like he stepped out of the way of his man instead of picking him up.
