Add an Eskimo?

Just because I'm bored: If you could add any former Eskimo (in his prime) to this years squad, for just this year, who would it be? And why?

For me, I would probably pick Dave Fennell. There have been better Esks in the past, but IMO the Esks could use a stud D-lineman to solidify that defence.

I gotta go with Fenell, inside power like that was amazing. We could really use a DT like that this year, I'd feel much better about our run-stopping ability if we did.

Hmmm, Gotta agree with Fennell he was the kind of dominant tackle we need now. I'd love to see Bryan Kelly with us again. Hmmmm.... too many to .... I just changed my mind, Dan Kepley.

Fennell came to mind but so did James 'Quick' Parker and Juice Mandarich

I also thought of Connop and Blake Dermott

And then I thought of Mike Pringle... not last year's model, but the one we had in Training Camp all those years ago! That made me think of Blake Marshall... a true power FB who could block like a hog.

Not that we would want to mess with what we have, but it would be hard not to think about Moon running this offence.

But then I thought about who might fit best with the way the game is played now, and where we do have 'needs' and I thought of both the recently departed David Boone and of Danny Bass.

In other words... TT can't make up his mind!

Actually I am going to get greedy and want two players, Blake Marshall and Reggie Taylor, my all time favourite offensive backfield. With the way the CFL has evolved into using smaller linebackers Marshall would have a field day.

Seriously, I'll have to look at Kepley, Fennell or maybe Ricky Ray. The latter is the only one that could actually work out.

^ - all good choices but my first pick would be the tower of strength at LT, Hec Pothier. I first saw him playing against American college kids in some Can-Am game.Most of the Canadian kids were having trouble holding their own. Not Hec, he was dishing out the punishment in a truly inspirational way. His play with the Eskimos continued to show his determination to be a winner. I wouldn't hesitate to pick him #1 in his prime. The QB never got blindsided when Hec played!
