"Eskimo Way" - Not a Catchphrase

I know with all the toxic damage done by the red headed sociopath, and steps taken to stop a capsizing ship being seen as positive, I have a little concern about the latest catchphrase that seems to get thrown around the Igloo a little too often for my liking: The Eskimo Way

The above phrase is simply a manner in which things used to be done, on and off the field for a long time. The way things are trying to be done again (thankfully) but it never was, nor never should be a marketing slogan/catchphrase/buzzword. Using it in that manner cheapens the meaning IMO.

Just go about your business in the manner in which we all expect and we'll all be happier for it.

    Just win baby.

I'm afraid I view that term as something from the past. Hugh Campbells last year or so at the helm and the guys that have taken over since then have made it a distant memory. I just want to start over from that. Hervey is a good start but as I've voiced before I am not impressed with Kavis Reed so far in a number of ways.

I don't want "Eskimo Way" to simply be synymous with "Old Boys Club"...look how well that has done for the Oilers. It's more about a winning tradition (which will take a number of years to establish, as winning now will break our current tradition), but also winning with class and respect.

I think it can be used in the modern version of the Eskimos..

But I also get it shouldn't be a slogan.. But a way we operate..

I agree, the Eskimo way is about walking the walk... talking about it just cheapens it, especially when all it is is lip service, as it has been for many years now.

Put up AND shut up, that's the Eskimo way. I don't want to hear about it, I want to see it.
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

On Tuesday, March 26, 2013, Eskimo Quarterbacks Matt Nichols and Mike Reilly will battle for the first time as teammates in support of the Edmonton Food Bank.

I definitely feel like i've heard about "The Eskimo Way" a lot more over the past 4 months than at any other time i can remember.

Of course other successful franchises also use this phrase such as "The Patriot Way", "The Laker Way", "The Packer Way". We don't hold the copyright on it. University of Michigan likes to say we want "Michigan Men" to phrase it another way.
