Made it down to mini camp todat at about 10:45 to find they were already in session (sort of thought so) No QB's on the field and mainly it was covering the basics in regards to calls and formations. If you were a casual fan it would have been boring as heck
Impressions in no order of importance:
Keyou Craver-DB was probably the most intense in the workout. Showed good quickness coming out of his break. Beat himself up over missing a few shagged punts by dropping and giving himself 10 on two occasions.
Antico Dalton-LB/DE size wise he's a shade slimer than Antionio Wilson was.
Charles Alston & JaWarren Blair-DT both take up a fair bit of real estate in the middle. The Dline was up against ghosts so I couldn't get any real impressions.
Demaine Adams-DE appears to have put on some extra meat on his frame from last year at least to my eyes and memory. We'll see after medicals where we weighs in at.
Detian Dubuc-FB lined up at the FB spot and appeared to have pretty good quickness, definitely faster than Bertrand IMO. Nice lateral speed down the line.
Ron McClendon-RB this kid has no shortage of wheels, that's for sure. Had the occasional mix up on the formations but that's why they're having mini camp.
Elvis Joseph-RB is only about an inch shorter than Dubuc but looked to have a good muscular frame and can definitely move for a guy his size. My immediate impression was a Robert Drummond with better footspeed. If he finds daylight, he could give LB's and DB's massive headaches if he runs strong on his feet.
Tyler Inglis (junior) LS - had nice velocity on his snaps but was a bit erratic with location, still pretty good for a young guy. Definitely better than DL Corey Trudeau.
Anthony Posteraro -P Boy he sure hase some of the purdiest neaon green shoes I shore ever did see!
Immediate target of main camp humour I'm sure. Punting wise, once he warmed up he was hitting them between 47-55 yards albeit with the wind behind him. Nice tight spirals on most of them once he was warm.
Notes: From watching the RB/FB portion, the shovel pass has not gone away from the offence. Don't want to give anything else away. Also DM was the one running the show with the RB's as RDL didn't have too much involvement only to discuss spacing and positioning. Hope it stays that way.
Didn't watch much of the receivers as there were no balls being thrown, however it sure was wierd to see a scrawny little white guy (leBlanc) wearing #3.
Jason Tucker was present checking things out. Saw Mobes' car but he must have been busy confirming his order of a case of apples and that box of roadmaps, for main camp.
