As many of you know, I am always willing to point out things that piss me off/suck. Right now though, I see the Eskimos as being vastly improved from the 9-9 squad from last year.

Ricky Ray + Jason Maas = Best 1-2 in the league IMO. Better than DD/CP.

Ron McLendon/Elvis Joseph = Not the best 1-2 punch in the CFL, but an upgrade from last year, where our running game was anemic as a result of a slower Pringle, and an underperforming O-Line

Bruce Beaton = The O-Line leader we need. Our O-Line looks to be upgraded from last year, and that is massively needed.

Hervey + Mookie + Tucker + Fresh Blood = best Receiving Corps in the CFL. 'Nuff Said.

Defense: The Edmonton Eskimos will have the single best D in the CFL this year. Upgrades on the D-Line, and the secondary mean a serious improvement.

Canadian Talent: Easily the best in the CFL.

Coaching: The only downside is the D Committe. I'm not sold on Rick Campbell, but the rest of the D coaching looks solid. I believe 100% that Cioch will be running the O most of the time. No Flanders = Good news.



9-9? Maybe for the Riders, but the Eskimos will improve on this bigtime. You can bank on it.

I'd wager on 12-6 or better.

vs OTT - win.
@ WPG - coin flip. ("other" loss)
@ MTL - loss. (probable)
vs WPG - win.
@ OTT - win.
vs HAM - win.
@ BC - coin flip. (perhaps)
vs TOR - coin flip.
vs MTL - coin flip. (lose one of these two home games)
@ CGY - coin flip. ("other" loss)
vs CGY - win.
@ SSK - loss.
vs BC - win.
@ HAM - win.
@ TOR - loss.
vs SSK - win.
vs BC - coin flip.
@ CGY - coin flip.

Loss in SSK.
2 or 3 losses vs MTL/TOR.
1 loss vs BC.
2 other losses, perhaps @ WPG and @ CGY.

12-6 is definitely doable. We could even be better than that and sweep home field and go 5-4 on the road, or not quite as good and blow another game. That's why I gave it a game either way.
