    Gerald Dixon and penalties

Sorry if this has been discussed before in another thread, if so, just tack it up in there.

But has anyone else noticed that Esks DB Gerald Dixon takes a ton of pass interference calls against him? Whether it's deserved or not, the guy seems to get called all the time because he never turns his head to look back at the ball, rather he just attacks the receiver as they go up to make the catch.

From what I've noticed, I think he's taken one in each game that he's got any kind of playing time in so far.

I don't doubt that Dixon has talent, but these small mental mistakes by him (such as not turning the head) have really been hurting the Esks.

    What do you guys think?

I think Cody should get a shot next game.

Sanchez is supposed to healthy for the next game so niether will play if no injuries that is.
If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes should fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

That call against Dixon was terrible. That was no pass interference call. The refs were brutal in that game. Can't really blame the guy for that one.

However, Sanchez will be back next game and if he isn't, we do have Tay Cody who can step in and play as well.

I agree. Although Ryanoles is right, Dixon has to learn to look back for the ball as well .

I think a lot of our injured/walking wounded will be at 100% for the TOR game .

Dixon's an ok back and yes he does have to refine his technique or he's gone. With Cody being on the roster, I wonder where that leaves Craver?

I seem to recall a few of us saying the same things about Marsh last year when he took over from *the name that we will not speak*....

I hope he continues to improve in the opportunities he gets from here on in....(would like to see more of Cody too)

Dixon didn't play very well against Hamilton. I thought he was better in BC (from what I saw). Keep in mind he's still a rookie in this league. I think we need to give him a lot more time before bashing him too much.

We can't expect brand new players like him to be studs right off the bat. These things take time.

Sanchez was interviewed at the BC game and said he'd be in the next game for sure. Not playing against BC was more of a precaution than anything.

All that crap that alot of cfl fans dish out about Sanchez being overrated is nonsense. You really have to watch the guy play to appreciate how good he really is. You dont hear his name often because QB's shy away from him and if your hearing your name often as a db 7 out of ten times your not doing well.

Alot of people dont think hes so much overrated, as they think hes got an attitude problem. The good thing it looks like its been muffled for now. He's as good as it gets for a NI DB.
