The O-line is killing the Esks.

Ricky Ray didn't get 3 steamboats all night. He had zero time to throw the ball. Guys like Tucker and Mitchell can beat you, but you have to let them get open and get downfield. Ray couldn't stand in the pocket and throw the ball. He had to scramble. Calgary then just gave him the underneath. 2 of Ray's 3 picks were because he got decked as he was throwing. Morris was beaten badly just about every play, and the others weren't much better.

So, please don't blame Ricky Ray, and don't go blaming the offensive coordinator. Its DM running the O anyway.

They are the main reason why the Esks lost. They can't protect and they take holding penalties a lot. I would get rid of 4 of the 5 linemen if I could replace them!
If we were put on this earth to help others, what were the others put on earth for?

Ray was on his second, third and fourth checks all night. An oline won't give you time like that all game long.

You got to help them out with some screens, draws quick passes.

But I'm not denying that there's problems.

Agreed. The O-Line is awful. It can't be their fault for 60 whole minutes though. Ray was innefective the whole game. Why not give Maas a chance. WHY IS DM SO RECULANT!!!!???

Ray was as effective as anyone could be. No QB can put up points when they have 1 steamboat to throw the ball. The O-Line was bad on each and every play tonight.

However, another knock I had against Ricky tonight (which WAS corrected in the second half) is that he DOESN"T have to throw...sometimes a QB scramble is a right / best call to make.

Which one do you keep? That's the tough question. Kabongo for the future? They all suk'd tonight. All of 'em.

True, but I think that the O-line is what cost the Eskimos tonight, and against TO. They are the major reason our O has been struggling.

The O-line has played one good game this year about 3 semi acceptable games and have been owned in about the other 7. It's been a problem since the beginning of camp, it will be a problem until the end of this season.

....and it was a problem last year. One they knew about and didn't address.

The O-line is a complete mess and has been all season. They played their absolute worst game of the season tonight, no question.

To me, it's a double-edged sword. On the one side, they've got veterans who are on their last legs; all due respect to Chris Morris and the career he's had, but he should hang them up now. On the other side, they've got inexperienced rookies who miss blocks and take holding penalties all game long, which are a major reason we can't finish drives. If you're stuck at first and twenty, you're limiting your options, especially with a predictable offence.
