Anyone see that news release about car flags? Did I read that right - $17.99 a flag? Ouch. Good thing I made my own for much less. But I haven't seen any signs or flags or anything around town...kinda disappointing. Thought there would be more of a buzz...or maybe I just don't get out much.

Re: Car Flags & Signs
You won't believe what I picked up there but we will be definitely noticable with our jerseys and mardi gras beads around town. I post pictures after they've been declassified.
I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

My car flag goes with me everywhere. If I switch cars it goes with me. Whenever I go to games people honk like crazy when they see it.Originally posted by EskiediehardAnyone see that news release about car flags? Did I read that right - $17.99 a flag? Ouch. Re: Car Flags & Signs
I'm driving through Calgary with my car flag which, it should be noted, was on sale at the Game On Sports location down here for a mere $13.99.
Between that and the Green-And-Gold Fuzzy Dice, the Eskimobile is making me PLENTY of enemies on Deerfoot Trail every day.
but if I had to put up with 400,000 of those freaking Flames car flags last playoffs, you'd better believe I'm getting all the licks in I can.
Of course, it could be I'm just hoping there's a cute, rich Eski-honey somewhere in Calgary wearing her jersey, sitting in the car saying to herself "the next guy who drives by who looks like he might be an Esks fan..."Anyone know of a Kevlar manufacturer that carries vests in Green and Gold? See you on Labour Day...

The flag was sure handy when I drove past Stampeder practice. I rolled down my window, yelled profanity at the Stamps, and waved the flag back and forth. Honking the horn helped too. I know I got Dunigan's attention as I flashed him the bird and he flashed it back (two years ago).
Here is some friendly advice though:
1. If you are going to get gas at a full service station take it down about a few blocks away. I may have been keyed at the gas station last summer. I had it buffed out though. My only stop from Edmonton to Banff was in Calgary for gas. I didn't leave Edmonton with a key mark but I arrived in Banff with one. I suspect the attendant may have done something.
2. Don't go through a fast food drive through. On my return trip last year from Banff I made the mistake at a Burger King and the girl told me to F-Off and that she wasn't going to serve me. The manager apologized and gave me a free meal (he also sent the girl home) but I didn't trust eating the food. So I went elsewhere with the flag down.
3. If you are going to park in a residential or buisness area, make sure you remove it several blocks away. One of my pals had his flag ripped off and his car keyed.
I had the same fun with Oiler Stanley Cup wins. The Edmonton Journal use to put out cardboard signs each time we won a Cup. I drove through Calgary with the signs in the back window.
Incredibly, I had the same sort of problem at a Burger King back then. Only that time I went into the Burger King with my Oiler jersey on.
Calgary sucks. The people there hate us far more than vice versa. It's jealousy. Their failures and out success equates to frustration and hate.Placing the Alberta Flag on the Calgary Flames uniform is akin to putting lipstick on a Pig

I used to go everywhere in Calgary wearing my Oilers jersey. At that time, however, the bandwagon was still empty and nobody cared.

Re: Car Flags & Signs
Hey remember me, the Eskies fan from Montreal? I definately will be flying an EE flag out the car window here... got the jersey ready too to show off our colours in enemy territory. Man, I am jacked up I am for this Sunday.
By the way, it's not a good idea to have an "I love Alberta beef" sticker, along with an Oilers sticker, EE sticker and a little red maple leaf on your car here. No no, got my window smashed for that....
